I think it might have been Wesley Collins? Maybe not sure though.

Middleton from Mason County will surprise alot of people this year.

Not me, he is a very good player. I would rate him in the top 5 of the region

Pelle may not average 25 pts a game but he is just as pivotal as Darius Miller, Middleton or any other Mason star.

 

He will get his props come season end.... I think he is a high D2 player.

 

Miller is a star and will be a D1 player. Middleton has basketball in his blood he will have a great year if he can stay healthy! Both should be ranked higher than Pelle.

Saw Middleton and Pelle play quite a bit over the summer for their respective AAU teams. And watched Middleton play for Mason last season a few times. Pelle's game is more advanced and according to rankings other than CP's, Pelle is rated higher. Middleton is ranked the 5th best in the soph class and that is a good place for him. Both are solid players.

I remember in 2000 when the Cats Pause rated Bishop Brossart like 7th in the 10th region preseason poll. They ended up making the Elite Eight in the entire state. Anything can happen.

I was part of that team. We were ranked 8th in the region that year, however I think the region was a little more wide open that year with the exception of Clark County. They were ranked in the state top 25 all year. However, in the regional tournaments it takes, and I'll quote Mustang on this, "a good draw, a good call, and a good bounce of the ball." We recieved all. Upsets will happen in every region every year, its just a matter of who takes advantage of them. Entering the 10th Region Tournament I felt that we (Brossart) knew we could compete with anyone. I thought the best game of the tournament (wasn't there for when Mason Co. beat Clark Co.) was the Brossart vs. St. Patricks game.

 

We played St. Pat's 3 times that year. We beat them by 3 in the MCIT, lost to them at St. Pat's by 2 (last second shot from half court hit the front of the rim), and in the semifinals and beat them by 1 (in which their center, who had not missed a shot all night and had 26 points missed a free throw with 2 seconds remaining). It takes some luck to make it to Rupp Arena. We beat Mason Co in the fourth quarter on a last second shot that rolled around the rim literally three times. I still watch that tape and am amazed that the shot went in. I really felt bad for St. Pat's though. They were the champs of their district (included Mason Co.) and I feel that it was their best shot at making it to Rupp. I loved playing against them, always felt like it was going to go to the buzzer against them.

Perrin - ruled eligible at Boyle Co.

Miller - Lincoln Co.

Fain - one of the Jessamine's (West?)

Sanders is at East Jess maybe.

St. Patrick's center that year was a guy named Ike Poe, I think. He was about 6'8'', good player.

Zack Fain is from West Jessamine and Sanders is from East Jessamine.

Miller--yes, Middleton-- no. Pelle is far better than Middleton. This kid is good, but let's face it, he is getting this higher ranking based on him playing for MC.
