Trinity 28 St. Xavier 0

I know those X teams from 2000-2012 played with an edge. Is it a team culture thing, coach intensity? Just curious.

While I love the way things have gone lately, this rivalry is at its best when this game is too close to call.

Laid back coaches = laid back players

"I thought the reason Glaser 'retired' was because the X faithful were tired of his style of offense."

A black day indeed.:depressed:

I just watched the film from last night and I think it is more than just offensive and defensive scheme. THS plays with an edge on every play. Not sure that we have that all the time or from everyone. Dingle consistently will fly into the pile and try to lay out the runner. On kickoffs #55 was a complete psycho blowing up the wedge. Many more examples of other kids. That is the edge you need in football in my opinion.

Do you have a link to the game ?

an interesting note I heard at the game. Trinity has 17 Seniors, St X had 56 Seniors. This year was a very thin senior class, with many spots covered by Jrs. and Sophs.

draw your own conclusions.

Trinity's seniors may be few but most contribute- QB- Bohn, WR- Strothman, WR- Bailey #13, C- Sears, OT- Murray, NG-Auxier, LB-Hull, LB-Cardosi, DE-Ruckreigel, DE-McDuffie, LB-Dissel, DB-Jones- all these kids played a significant part in the victory.

OK X camp. Be honest. Would anyone have predicted that you would keep Moore out of the end zone and still lose by 4 TDs?

Nice post but unfortunately Murray hasn’t played a down this year due to a pre season injury.

Wasn't Murray lost preseason for the entire season with a leg injury? It may not be Murray but I think T lost a 6'6 OT. Who am I thinking of ?

Sorry AT.......I did not see your post before I just posted mine.

That stinks, hate to see any kid get injured any year- but especially senior year- like Roshkowski last year and Metzmeier this year for X.

X’s issue offensively is they line up and run the same plays out of the same formations...they are able to beat teams because they’re bigger up front. Doesn’t really work when the play T. Not using TE, no huddle, and two point stances by OL have zero to do with their inability to move the football. T dared them to throw the football by playing man and keeping two LBers in the box and X refused to get away from their runnning game.

Wolford is not doing anything to help build the X football program. His staff is questionable at best and his best coach may be a Glaser holdover in Bruner.

Attendance will continue to stay low because there’s nothing drawing the casual fan to game. T is head and shoulders better and most people know that. Also, when Glaser was there you knew there was a certain dislike between the two coaches, with Wolford and Beatty that storyline/ dynamic doesn’t exist.

Good luck to Tigers the rest of the way, hope they get another opportunity to hold up their side of this rivalry.

Pfeifer is the other OT that is playing. Murray is expected back for the playoffs.

Murray is 6'6" 240 and not an ounce of fat. That kid is a beast.

Harbrecht is out due to injury suffered at Jeff Brohm Camp for OL/TE at Purdue.

67 total passes with no interceptions. 47 carries with no fumbles. 14 penalties total for 120 yards (9 on Trinity for 75 yards). My favorite stat of the night besides the score: St. Xavier-ONE kickoff.
