AL MVP Tracker (When it Counts)

Featured Replies

Forget the regular season MVP. Let's track who is getting it done when it truly counts. AL MVP looks like it's between Morneau and Jeter but I'll even add the Big Hurt in there. This should leave zero doubt...

Game 1:

Morneau: 0-4

Jeter: 5-5, HR, 2 Doubles, 1 RBI

Thomas: 3-4, 2 HR, 2 RBI's

Gotta give Frank the nod, he did it against the league's best!

Hey sticky, the Reds are about to get HOT!

I agree on Jeter right now, the game he had last night was an example of what a pure baseball player should be in every sense of the word. Thomas also had a big game but I"ll put my bets on Jeter due to his playoff history. Pure clutch and class all the way.

Absolutely, Thomas is definitely the game 1 winner.

Actually, the Reds have been hot since Monday afternoon. Griffey, Clayton, Freel and I'm sure many others head to Florida. Dunn heads to Texas. It's still hot in those place...right?

Hard to separate Jeter and Thomas. One sets the table and the other, clears the table.

If I heard correctly, in between McCarver's education diatribe, the comment was Jeter, had the 6th-5 hit game in playoff history....

Thomas has the ability to carry the A's.

He's still a moron...

Fox should never be allowed to air sporting events again. Jeanne Zelasko and Tim McCarver in the same night...:creepy: :creepy:

He's still a moron...
He's baseball intelligent and certainly at times, he over-emphasizes a point. He can take a simple 5 second response and talk about for innings....I do like some of his comments but I watch TV games, as a fan and not to get educated in every aspect of the game, which he tends to attempt.

How much will the playoffs go toward, determining the MVP or will it take away votes from the ones you mentioned and let some others make it a close race.

I think one can certainly help themselves, more than hurt themselves....

Come on guys... you give McCarver too much credit. :sssh:

Jeter is the MVP. I'll take clutch over power anytime.

S3, my respect for you has just somewhat waned!

He insults my intelligence as a baseball fan. If I didn't know anything about the game of baseball, I wouldn't be watching.

:scared:Oh, S3. I can't believe you said that. That's OK. I still trust your knowledge. I would like to add that McCarver is to baseball as BBQ sauce is to lasagna, it's just not good.

Because....

Which part, about the watching or McCarver.
Because....

Which part, about the watching or McCarver.

Oh, my!!!!

McCarver is the single most annoying presence in the booth,,,,,ever!

What's next S3? You'll be promoting Chris Welsh to do This Week In Baseball?

Which part, about the watching or McCarver.

No fair! That's a loaded question. :D

Watching and listening to McCarver is a pain, sometimes. I tend to block him out and just watch the game. I usually listen on the XM when Fox carries the games.

..... I like you're Oh My, mine has more emphasis though....:D

Let me re-phrase my McCarver comments. He does know the game of baseball, I'm just not interested in hearing it constantly....

As for Welsh, I think he tries his best and like any of us, makes mistakes. Back to the MVP discussion....do you like Jeter, Thomas, Ortiz or others?
