October 5, 200619 yr Over the course of a season, I'll take the guys who plays 162 games, every day and for 3hrs and 15 minutes, each day....Over the "hitter" who plays 10 minutes and eats seeds in the dugout, at the MLB level. Don't forget that they also ride a stationary bike. Maybe they could get advice from T.O. on which helmets and "cyle uni's" to wear for riding a stationary bike.

October 6, 200619 yr While Ortiz is a great hitter I don't consider him a League MVP. A team MVP is a legit award but to me a League MVP should be a complete ball player. I think Ortiz is the best there is at what he does but would he put up the same numbers if he were playing every day running bases & playing defense? I don't think he has the physical stamina to play everyday so I can't consider him an MVP candidate. My idea of a complete player is one that excells in all facets of the game and does it day in & day out. He does all the things it takes to make his team better. While Ortiz is great he does not fit this mold. I am not a fan of the DH but it is a part of the AL game so Big Papi would have to get some votes based on this seasons production. He just would not get mine.
