Bac2369 Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Who wins this matchup? Ludlow is coming off a big win against Williamsburg. Bishop Brossart is also coming off a win but not as good Ludlow.
oldoc Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Brossart will have to stop a very good running back this week. I believe they can, so I will take Brossart in a close one. If Brossart doesn't slow Ludlow down in the run game, this one gets ugly
frankdracman23 Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 One of the keys to beating Ludlow is making them work on defense and keeping the offense off the field. I think Brossart can do that so they can win this game. Now if Ludlow gets on top it definitely becomes a more difficult task so Brossart will have to play well at the start of the game and weather all the Homecoming stuff. I see a high scoring shoot-out.
hrcarrier Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 After seeing both teams play, I believe that this has potential to be a good game. I think that Ludlow has the advantage and they will be tough to contain on the ground. For Brossart to win, they have to pass successfully and have long drives to limit Ludlow's offense time on the field. Ludlow plays very physical on both sides of the ball. As a team this is probably the best I've seen fielded for the Panthers. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up a high scoring game. I'll say Ludlow by ten.
Mustang Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Respect is earned and not given, so this is a good chance for our Mustangs to see what we can do against quality Class 1-A competition on the opponents' home turf. Justin Blackburn is certainly no stranger to our guys, who have been fortunate enough to come away with victories during his sophomore and junior seasons (19-13 @ Ludlow, and 47-28 @ Brossart). Boasting two of the finest linebackers in Class 1-A, I have confidence that we will be able to keep the Ludlow ground game in check. If not, Ludlow will have a gleeful Homecoming party. All in all, being an out-of-district contest for both teams, it will be a great learning experience and benefit both teams as we continue district play the following week.
futurecoach Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I think as long as Ludlow doesn't have many turnovers that they win this game by a couple tds. I seen Ludlow play the last 2 weeks. I think this is the best Ludlow team since the 1999 Ludlow team. I don't think they are as good as the 1999 team, but they are very good. Blackburn is a special player and a top 5 player in Ludlow history imo. I expect him and the two good running backs to have good games.
BWTigers Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Ludlow-44 Brossart-38 I see this as a shoot out type game where neither defense can stop the other offense much. That plays in Ludlows favor.
camelman Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I see a bit of surprise here, with Ludlow smacking Brossart in the chops and winning rather easily.
Oldercoach Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Got to go with Ludlow unless Brossart can force the Panthers to go to the air. If that happens (and I don't think they can force Blackburn to throw) the Mustangs will win. Ludlow 35-28.
ZJH Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 I'm going Ludlow by 2 possessions, I think the Ludlow run game of Blackburn & Stratton will be too much. Brossart is a good 1A school, Ludlow is their toughest opponent so far.
