Does it matter who Trinity plays in the first round?? Unless you fast forward to maybe the regional final, none of Trinity's playoff games are going to be close. And how does adding another 15-20 much smaller schools to Trinity's class make their class more competitive?

 

I don't care about more competitive, it's what basketball does. If the basketball kids all deserve to be in the playoffs and play for 1 true champion I don't see where the football kids deserve any less.

Just because basketball (and other sports) only has one class, doesn't mean it's the only or necessarily the right way to do things. I don't agree with basketball (or any other sport) only being one class. I know I'm in the minority, but not being from KY, I'm not swayed by the nostalgia and warm, fuzzy feelings many here have in regards to the Sweet 16 basketball tourney, and the "one true state champ" mantra.

How many state champions in 6 classes wouldn't of been champions in 4 classes and vice versa?

I'm not sure that those threads always come up or get hotly debated. I think everyone pretty much recognizes the 6a champ as being the best team. Maybe you could have made a case for Bowling Green during their run but for the most part, it's pretty much been Trinity, then everyone else. And I don't mean that as a shot at Trinity, or to say that Trinity is a problem. Almost every state has a team (or several in the case of larger states) that simply dominate year in and year out.
