It's nothing new. Coach Eviston is having the same results at CovCath as he did at NCC. It takes time for his players to understand the offense and scheme. Once they do, lookout! I'm sure Coach Brown knows what he's doing on defense, but who needs defense when you can out score everyone.

For what it is worth, calpreps.com has Beechwood ranked as Cov Cath's toughest opponent this morning. That includes last night's games. For those who weren't part of this discussion in the other thread, we are only looking at teams CCH has played so far.

 

CalPreps also has Corbin ranked ahead of Beechwood, so the ratings can get fuzzy at times.

Congrats to the Colonels on another great game. Keep it going. Hopefully both teams escaped with no major injuries and will have all hands on deck next week!

True, but they are close. Even though Beechwood is ranked ahead of Ryle and Kings, today I would lean toward those two beating Beechwood. But I would expect close competitive games like Beechwood's Corbin game. I lean toward Beechwood over Lex Cath if those two played. The Simon Kenton game will help us a lot in getting a read on these teams.

How close is Beechwood to being 2A?

 

They are a 2A, 3A, 4A football program housed in a Class 1A school.

They enjoy that status and have many state championships to show for it.

I talked to a couple of Beechwood peeps and they were talking "Best Ever" CCH team.

 

I think the best CCH team was the 92 team. They beat everybody. But everyone knew they couldn't play in the mud during those years.

Actually from talking to a few Beechwood people at the school they aren't close to moving to 2A.

They will almost surely be in 2A the next time they redistrict in two years.

 

I have heard differnt from someone who is in the Admin at Beechwood. I heard they aren't even close to moving to 2A. I could be wrong though.
