#1 CAL fell behind early against a very good Elizabethtown team, but came from behind to win 24-9 in a highly anticipated match-up.

 

#2 Danville went on the road to Somerset and handily defeated a top 10 5A Pulaski County squad, 34-13.

 

#5 LCA made its case for the top team in Fayette County with a resounding 56-36 defeat of 3A #5 Lexington Catholic.

 

#10 Somerset somewhat lessened the disappointment of a 7-0 loss to Beechwood in Week 2 by travelling to Hazard and beating the 2nd ranked Bulldogs, 20-9.

That score would have been much worse without some favorable breaks for the home team. Should have been a running clock honestly.

CAL, Danville and LCA were all the consensus picks to win their games this past week in the various BGP Contest and Polls.

Somerset was only predicted to win by 3 or 4 out of over 40 predictions in the contest. :bunny:

That is a nice win, but this is by far not a Maroon team any where near the level of the past 4 years. If Danville had of beaten any of those teams it would have been much much more impressive than beating this years group. I'm taking nothing away from Danville, this just isn't a Maroon team that was ever going to give them any trouble.
