Ohio State 38 Iowa 17

No surprise here, Iowa has been the most overrated team in the country all year long...

I agree and I was pretty close on the score I said it would be 34-14 OSU, but Troy Smith does nothing but impress me everytime I watch him play. :ylsuper:

Can you imagine the hype for that game if they both go into that game undefeated....  :fight:

When was the last time both teams came in to this rivalry undefeated? I can't remember any time it's ever happened.

IMO Ohio State is on their own island right now. They are playing great football right now and I really don't see them losing to anyone.

But for once, that hype would be deserved!

:thumb: That's what I am thinking also and they possibly could be ranked #1 and #2 at that time.

Michigan better hope for some losses in front of them. Would be next to impossible for them to jump Auburn, USC, Florida, WVU, unless they lose. Another reason why the polls shouldn't even come out until this week.

Ohio State's defense is going to have to stiffen up. While the turnovers are nice, they can't rely on them against Michigan, they will get beat that way. All in all a nice win, but Iowa simply couldn't FINISH.

I agree, it will be hard to jump those teams but we are talking about the BCS here:sssh:

Does Ohio State really have anyone else that should pose a problem to them to where they cant win out?

Every team on the schedule can beat you at anytime if you don't execute properly. Michigan is very capable of beating the Buckeyes. IMO Michigan should be ranked # 2 this week.

What was that about Iowa hssb??? :D

Much like every season, Iowa improves as the year goes on. This game might have been closer had it been played in November. It seemed like the Iowa City atmosphere was more of a pre-game talking point than even the game. Ohio State, by the way, looked very good.

When was the last time a team was involved in two #1 vs. #2

matchups in the same regular season, or has it ever happened?

Continuing on the same vein if tOSU was to beat a number two

Michigan on Nov. 18 they would likely have to play another #2

team in the National Championship game... Has that (#1 vs #2

three times) occured before in the same season?

I really do not know for sure but I can't remember it happening. It would make for some great pre game hype and will sell a lot of tickets if it does matchup that way. I certainly hope it ends with OSU beating # 2 Mich.

I believe that Oklahoma (w/Switzer)/ Nebraska played as #1 and 2, forgot the year. Also Oklahoma and Texas may have years and years ago

Possible losses by the above mentioned teams which would allow the team up north to move to #2 by November 18th:

West Virgina

11/2 @ Louisville

Southern Cal

11/11 vs. Oregon

Auburn

10/7 vs. Arkansas

10/14 vs. Florida

11/11 vs. Georgia

Florida

10/7 vs. LSU

10/14 @ Auburn

10/28 vs. Georgia

11/11 vs. South Carolina
