^ 10 td's when the other team has zero points? That's piling it on, no matter how it gets spun.

Wasnt there a kid from I believe it was Paintsville? that had a game similar to that something like 10 touchdowns an 500 or 600 yards last year or year before?? I don't remember the exacat stats was it the Pugh boy?

The way I look at is is that the opposing coach needs to teach his kids how to shed blocks and tackle.

You've got to be kidding me. That is just crazy. Sometimes the team is just better and has nothing to do with the coaches ability to teach. It's still no excuse to leave your "stud" in the entire game just to pad stats. It's completely and utterly classless. PERIOD

Wow unreal how about the o-line getting the job done in that game.

It's not saying too much when the team has only 12 players. I bet only 1 or 2 or those kids are true lineman and probably not good lineman. So, it doesn't impress me at all.

This reminds of the coach in the mid to late 1990's who had JR House, the QB who broke many of Couch's national passing records. He had the same modis operandi. He even publicly stated that if he could beat a team 100-0 and help House break the records in doing so, he would do it. He did that all season. However, the good news was that he had around 21 seniors starting on that team and the next few seasons, there were quite a few payback games. At least when Couch was at Leslie County, there were several games where he threw very few, if any passes, in the 2nd half when the Eagles had big leads. At least their coaches understood that it is not just about records, but about showing a little class and sportsmanship and sending that message to their players. This coach obviously doesn't understand what those words mean.

:thumb: :thumb: Great post MT.

Just trying to be sure that I understand your position - are you saying that you have no problem with burying a team that is clearly overmatched and not competitive, in an attempt to artificially inflate the statistics of a player?

I understand where the majority of people are coming from, but this is a lose-lose situation for everyone.

Are you supposed to tell the kid to just fall down if somebody gets close? Should the QB just snap the ball and take a knee?

There are quite a few posters on here who are saying that this RB would not start for quite a few teams in EKY. If he's not that good, why should the coach have to take him out? Honestly, it's just a lose lose situation for everyone involved...

How do you prevent something like this? I don't know that you can, as long as the other team stays on the field...

Kasey Clark from Russell could have broke this record a long time ago, but fortunately he plays for a coach that is the true definition of the word Class.

That's no excuse. No, you don't tell your QB to take a knee because you don't embarass kids that way either. But you don't keep your 1st string RB in to run up the score. You put in the JV kids and if that doesn't work, you put in freshman. I know there was another RB that could have ran the ball for the rest of the game. You put that RB in and run up the gut. From what I've been hearing about this coach, he wanted to do this. Well, it's pretty evident that he did. Like I said, I'm sure there was some kid who could have ran the ball without having to keep your 1st team in. The points in your post is no excuse to do what they did. The kid had 30 carries. No excuse.

I agree. Kasey had 226 on 12 carries last week. Just image if he'd had 30+ like this kid.

Does anybody else remember this or did I just dream it? I thought it was a couple years ago?

Yes, it was last year in the playoffs, and the kid ran for 5 TDs and threw for 5 TDs. The score wasn't 60-0, I think it was about a 2-3 TD game.

Totally different than the WV back running all over an obviously weak team.

Ive heard it a lot in this thread, and although true Burch is very weak this year in Coalfield A, WV, this is still the same guy, Paul McCoy, who ran for 595 against Shelby Valley in the Shorty Jammerson Grid. I know Matewan had to forefeit the win, so I am assuming that this mark had to be forefitted too? None the less, this was one thing that was going to stand out to me this season was McCoys 595 being erased, but now that he went on to post 658, I guess that will no longer be a concern.

Again, yes, Burch is a weak team, but it wasn't like McCoy was just piling up yards due to the competition, the kid can run, and has proved that all season long.

Wrong, individual stats still stand after the forfeit. So he keeps the 595(who some reported was actually 445) on his season total.

BTW, the yardage in the record is going to be verified.

And Yes, he was piling up yardage because of much weaker against Burch...against Williamson...against Shelby Valley...BUT only 87 yards against Man, WV a team with a 4-2 record.

I can understand the yards McCoy got against Shelby Valley. The score was neck-n-neck and he got those yards during the course of a competitive ballgame.

But against Williamson and Tug Valley, it's just uncalled for.

I can remember Redman and Couch throwing a lot of 2 and 3-yd touchdown passes their senior seasons in blowouts. It happens everywhere.

To be honest with you he wouldnt start in Belfrys backfield. Burch has 12 players on their team and I heard they have one hurt so that would be 11. They are fotunate to have a team this is a typical Kinder game. He is a joke as a coach plain and simple. The kid is a decent back but I can think of several backs in EKY that I have seen personaly that is alot better. He honestly couldnt start in Belfry or Pikevilles backfield. Man who is an average team this year held them under 100 yards.

Why do you feel the need to get on here and bash this kid just because you dont like his coach? Its not the players fault his coach wouldnt take him out of the game.
