Decided to edit my post. To your bolded statement above, how do you know this? That is my question.

 

Well all I know is what I hear from my friends to the west. I don't know what goes on in your part of the state. Too far away for me to care about anyway honestly. As bad as you want them too GRC can't win all the preseason debates. I'm sure GRC will be the best team in the 10th this season, and should win the 10th. With all the talent they have coming back and all the (newly acquired) talent they should dominate both boys and girls basketball this season. Anything less would be considered a down season one would assume. This whole thread is all opinion based. You have yours and I have mine. Cant you just let me have my opinion and not turn tis into a GRC is the best at everything and if you don't agree I'm going to keep quoting you till you do debate?

Morehead State

Allen's size,build and skill set are comparable to Darius, but he is not at that level(but he is only a junior, so he can and may get there), thinking more Georgetown, Bellarmine or along those levels as of now. You have to be really,really,really good to play D1. He's just really good at this point. He needs an Ohmer-type run in the regional tournament or beyond to showcase his skills. I just think if PC doesn't draw NC in district tournament the next 2 years they may not make it to the Fieldhouse while he is there

 

Is your last statement meant to be controversial and spark more conversation, or is it based on past history, or is it based on returning players from last year, or is it simply your gut feeling? I'm guessing it may be based on the district tournament game from last year where admittedly PC failed to live up to expectations. I'm not positive but I believe the district tournament this year is at PC. That could factor in. PC lost only one starter and their record against HC and RC is not worrisome. Not meaning to attack you but your statement did make me chuckle.

Allen has too much Talent to stay in Kentucky, in particular the 10th region. If he was in the 11th region, he would have better offers. Scott Co's Moreno has better offers than Allen because of the program, and not talent. Allen has more *upsides* than Moreno. Dont get me wrong, Moreno and Rhodes (both 2019 also) are talented and imposing size-wise, but at the next level I doubt they have the athleticism or foot speed to guard a wing player at a mid/major D1 program.

 

My son was at Harrison Co last year and played well against Allen in the regular season meeting. Well, my son is back in NC

and is flourishing as we approach his upcoming junior year. Nevertheless, Harrison Co was a good experience for him, "to get his feet wet".

 

Sorry for the rambling, but Allen and Harrison Co's Free should be top candidates for 10th region POY for next year (2019)

I can see him playing at MSU and EKU. Both good schools.

Another thread would be more tasteful. If you play Elite AAU, a kid can get offers in one tournment versus a high school season. If that player isnt in EYBL, Adidias,

or UU circuit, they have to get it done in high school. If PC ever made it to the sweet 16, Allen would have better offers. Allen should have gone to a prep school for his final two years. I think Allen will get better offers this season though.

 

Finally, recruiting is a joke. Most of these college scouts dont have a good feel for talent. And too many high school coaches are trying to *manufacturer* players. Let players play; the cream will rise to the top eventually.
