Bengal Maniac Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Marquis Flowers to the Pats for 7th round pick. I find the timing of this one odd. With Tez probably gone 3-5 games, we need linebackers for a while. He appears to be serviceable. Head scratcher for me with the timing.
NKY Bandit Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 With you on this one. Doesn't make much sense unless Tobin is sure he can get an upgrade at the waiver wire. Besides, when you trade with the Pats, you automatically assume you got hosed.
Voice of Reason Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 I don't know what the numbers look like on the Bengals linebackers but obviously this trade says Flowers was going to be cut, so the Bengals grabbed the seventh round pick instead of cutting him and getting nothing
Don't_Hate_the_Playa Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Belichik mind control strikes again. It is especially effective against the weak-minded, so he must have spoken with Mike Brown directly.

I don't think Flowers was in the Bengals plans.
CincySportsFan Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Bengals still have 10 LB's on the roster. Four of them are rookies, though. Bryson Albright Brandon Bell ® Vontaze Burfict P.J. Dawson Jordan Evans ® Carl Lawson ® Kevin Minter Hardy Nickerson ® Vincent Rey Nick Vigil
Bengal Maniac Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 I agree he was probably cut and they just got what they could get. However, I would just think his experience would out weigh most of the rookies for the games Tez is suspended. Again, timing is all.

Just Hangin Around Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Safe to say degrees from Dartmouth and Harvard Law don't impress you much, huh? You can have all the degrees you want but sometimes you need some "common" sense as well!
UK#1fanisback Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Flowers was in the doghouse a few weeks ago for hitting a qb in noncontact drills.
CincySportsFan Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Flowers was in the doghouse a few weeks ago for hitting a qb in noncontact drills. Thought that was Burfict.
UK#1fanisback Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Thought that was Burfict. Nope Burfict hit Gio. Flowers hit a QB.

CincySportsFan Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Nope Burfict hit Gio. Flowers hit a QB. Gotcha. Heard about Burfict's, don't remember Flowers'.
