Bengals Trade Marquis Flowers

Marquis Flowers to the Pats for 7th round pick. I find the timing of this one odd. With Tez probably gone 3-5 games, we need linebackers for a while. He appears to be serviceable. Head scratcher for me with the timing.

With you on this one. Doesn't make much sense unless Tobin is sure he can get an upgrade at the waiver wire.

 

Besides, when you trade with the Pats, you automatically assume you got hosed.

I don't know what the numbers look like on the Bengals linebackers but obviously this trade says Flowers was going to be cut, so the Bengals grabbed the seventh round pick instead of cutting him and getting nothing

I agree he was probably cut and they just got what they could get. However, I would just think his experience would out weigh most of the rookies for the games Tez is suspended. Again, timing is all.
