This game is much more than just a scrimmage to the Families of CovCath and NewCath read the below article from the Ft. Thomas Matters.

FORT THOMAS MATTERS: Good Cause in NC-CovCath FB Scrimmage

Mark Wehry Kevin Connor and I will be broadcasting the Covington Catholic High School vs. Newport Central Catholic scrimmage Friday Night, August 11th. We encourage you to attend to be a part of this incredible night as both schools come together for Brian Evinston the brother of Head Coach Eddie Eviston. Brian was diagnosed with ALS last year and the funds raised Friday night will be used to help Brian and his family. If you cannot make the event, please tune into CovCath Internet Radio.http://covcath.ezstream.com/broadcasts/index.cfm...

There won't be any losers in this scrimmage, only the love of Family helping Family!

Prayers go out to the family who has to deal with this debilitating disease.

Have a great broadcast TOG!!

Love listening to Kevin!

I remember him walking the halls with a big tub Vaseline looking for victims during freshman orientation and abusing other hapless frosh in the infamous "Mr. Box". :lol2:

I hope they raise a ton of money and prayers to the Eviston family. Good luck to both teams and stay injury free.

Jack Maile has had mono, and lost a ton of weight. I am curious as to when he will play.

Does anyone know how this game is set up? Will it be a game like scrimmage for a few quarters and then JV and Freshman playing? I'm trying to decide which scrimmage to go watch tonight while I record the Bengals game.

While I don't know for sure, my guess would be, as it has been for the last three years CovCath scrimaged Campbell County, a regular game (with some restrictions) played by the varsity players, then in the 4th quarter the JV takes over.

Thank you!

Here's a news piece that Channel 5 did about the scrimmage on Friday. Well worth 4 minutes of your time.

Thanks for sharing. I chatted with his father in law last night. He was very thankful for the support shown by both schools and the community this weekend.

I'm thinking this might deserves it's own thread so more folks will see it.
