I thought there was something else that you thought could/should be put in place to make the program more effective.

As a matter of fact there is, random testing for parents that want to opt in.

Our school randomly test students involved in extra curricular activities and those wishing to drive on campus.

Unconstitutional.

Unconstitutional.

I agree that testing all students is unconstitutional. However, extracurricular activities and driving are not RIGHTS, so limiting those are not unconstitutional. That's my understanding, at least.

Still unconstitutional, by law the juvenile can not agree to the testing.

I believe the parents agree to it when thier child applies for a parking pass or participates in sports.

Thats why its unconstitutional IMO, the person themselves can not by law agree to take the test.

They can refuse the test.

The test are illegal and unconstitutional to start with, they should not happen for any reason in the school setting.

That's your opinion, of which you are entitled.

The parents have the right to decide, that is legal.

I used to think differently until recently.

The parents have the right to decide, that is legal.

Are the parents taking the test?

Are the parents taking the test?

Parents legally make decisions for their children until they are adults, that is the law as minors can't legally make those decisions. Permission slips were sent homes and parents have the right to refuse, but it could impact certain activities and privileges they partake in.

Why single out athletes?

Shouldn't it be all students or none at all?

Agreed they should be testing all students. What about teachers and administration? They have America's future in their classes all day. Parents would be great also. Or anyone who interacts with students. This could become interesting, put your money where your mouth is, ADULTS.
