Game of Thrones: Season 7

Featured Replies

I can only speak for myself, but I'm only disappointed in this season because I've held Game of Thrones to a higher standard of entertainment. I'm completely okay with having a weaker story line for the sake of easy entertainment if that's what I'm expecting. Case in point is The Walking Dead. I am a huge TWD fan knowing full well it's basically a soap opera with zombies. But GOT has become what it has become based on intricate story telling and hard and fast rules laid out over the years. When they start to stray from that it glaringly sticks out by comparison.

This many times over. Most fantasy settings I would forgive for this, but GOT has such a grounded aesthetic that it really sticks out.

When the Night King was riding the dragon, I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Made me think of Atreyu and Falkor.

Pretty solid. Everything ended in the right place, this season was just a little sloppy getting there. The reveal about Jon between Sam and Bran was a little rushed. But overall it was great TV and I think they got back on course.

I don't think it was rushed. Most people knew anyway. No need to stretch that out any longer.

This season ended great. It had weak moments, but what an ending.

Kind of annoyed at the name reveal, what with the other Aegon and all. I assume they are just combining him in so as to tie tbat potential storyline in somehow.

If i was ranking seasons, this one would be next to last, with only Season 5 being worse. Rumors were that Dany was going to get killed in this episode, wish they had went there, right before the Wall came down, now that would have been an ending worth waiting til 2019 for the next episode, instead we get the Love Boat

Lot of fan service this season now that they are free from the shackles of the books.

I bring that up all the time to friends that read the books and they throw back in my face that last season had nothing to do with the books and I thought last season was the best in the series. Just not a fan at all of the Dany and Jon Snow characters this season.

If you read the prophecies it makes sense why his name is Aegon.

I was pleased with the ending. Now we wait a year or more..:lol2:

I am talking about the fact that there is another son of Rhaegar who was not appeared in the show by that name. Are you referring to the reborn lightbringer from the age of heroes?

POSSIBLE BOOK SPOILER BELOW!

The man had her brother’s hair, but he was taller, and his eyes were a dark indigo rather than lilac. “Aegon,” he said to a woman nursing a newborn babe in a great wooden bed. “What better name for a king?” “Will you make a song for him?” the woman asked. “He has a song,” the man replied. “He is the prince that was promised, and his is the song of ice and fire.” He looked up when he said it and his eyes met Dany, and it seemed as if he saw her standing there beyond the door.

“There must be one more,”

I think maybe he was talking about Jon being the prince that was promised.

The demise of Littlefinger was one of the top 5 happiest television moments of my life. They executed that scene perfectly (no pun intended). I said on here I'd be very very let down if Arya and Sansa's recent behavior wasn't part of a larger scheme to be one step ahead of Littlefinger, and I was certainly not let down.

I'm not as thrilled with the Dany/Jon(Aegon? Which do we use now?) love connection as many others seem to be. Not because it's incest, that is tolerated if not downright accepted in this world, particularly in the Targaryen family. I just don't see how it's going to benefit the storyline. There's not enough time left to see what a hypothetical child of theirs would become, and I doubt they'll be given a big happy ending where they ride off in the sunset happily ever after. It just seems unnecessary. My reaction to it mirrored Tyrion's. Only bad can come of that.

The ice dragon was terrifying. That ending was perfect. It brought the mood right back to where it should be going into the final season after having several moments of happiness in a row. However, if Tormund died I will be a little annoyed because he deserved a better death than that of some red shirt.
