May 27, 20179 yr He's been in obvious poor health for the last couple of years, so this is no shock. Still, sad to see another great pass away. They're getting fewer and fewer.
May 28, 20179 yr In all honesty, it's a miracle Cher didn't kill him. When I heard this, my chipper face went from glad to sad really quick. Glad I got to see the Allmans way back in the day. Warren Haynes was playing guitar with them then.
May 28, 20179 yr Not gonna lie. I teared up while texting my uncle — dad's brother who is closer in age to me than dad — thanking him for introducing me to the Allmans and all that other great music over the years. Uncle Joe was gracious and loving enough, despite how much he picked on me when I was a little kid and he was a teenager, to let this crazy, irresponsible little boy have access to his amazing record collection way back when, and my love of music is solely because of him.
