Man shouting "Allahu Akbar" kills 3 men in Fresno.

I didn't have the benefit of reading that prior to my post, as we were posting at the same time..I wasn't ignoring your input.

But since you brought it up, when reading the article, it pretty clearly spells out what police believe the motive was....it's believed to be racially motivated. He also has a record a mile long and history of criminal behavior (weapons, drugs, terroristic threats, etc) as well as gang ties. However, it didn't seem important to point any of that out in the original post. The guy is just a bad person. Yet the only thing mentioned in the original post was his Muslim ties. As you mention, yes being Muslim might be part of the motive. But why leave the rest of the other stuff out if we are talking about possible motive, unless you just want to continue the "all Muslims are evil rhetoric".

Honestly, because it is still rare for a Muslim to kill on behalf of their religion in this country. It isn't rare for drug dealers or gang bangers to kill to kill others of the same ilk. It isn't rare for a husband to kill a wife during a domestic argument, it isn't rare for someone to be murdered by a drunk driver...but these murders and their circumstances (Random killing, specific targeting of another race, shouting of religious rhetoric) don't happen every day and aren't as common as the other murders that you listed.

Plus to your point that the rest of his background wasn't mentioned in the opening post, was his entire back ground known at that time? All that was known was he had randomly killed 3 or 4 people and shouted what he did when arrested...no one knew when those first stories were written that he had the background that you brought up.

Can a mod change the title to man instead of mansday

No clue how this auto correct does it

Captured alive and should also be charged with hate crime.

I dont think its a terrorist attack as much as a hate white people and kill them.

If the case of home grown terrorism, then who is he following. Plenty of hate speech goes around.

Muhammad's Facebook page, he repeatedly posted "#LetBlackPeopleGo" and encouraged "black warriors" to "mount up." A flurry of posts emerged in the past day.

He wrote that his "kill rate increases tremendously on the other side" and also posted about "white devils."

Agree 100% on McVeigh, but I think Roof was just some very stupid kid who thought he knew something. but I may be 100% wrong too.

I dont know, we have so many labels anymore, I dont know what to label anything.

I also think things like this promotes home grown terror. I mean you have an MSNBC ‘Counter terrorism analyst’ wanting ISIS to bomb property belonging to Pres. Trump. I just dont understand the hate and I guess Im glad I dont.

Malcolm Nance, who regularly appears on MSNBC programming took to Twitter Tuesday and expressed hope that Islamic State terrorists would bomb the President’s property in Turkey.

“This is my nominee for the first ISIS suicide bombing of a Trump property,” Nance tweeted, in response to a picture of Trump’s tower building in Istanbul.

Nance later deleted the tweet, but the internet doesn’t forget:

I thought we had a huge posting about the facebook killer, he wasnt Muslim.

I havent seen where I said anything about him being Muslim other than shouting Ali Akbar or whatever.

Yes. There was just no doubt who would be the one to report it.

If if the shooter had been an overweight, less attractive woman you would have been the first to make comments on her looks so we all have our crosses to bear now don't we?!

I never once mentioned his Muslim ties in any post I had. I mentioned I thought more of a hate crime than anything.

You titled the thread by stating what he was saying at the time of the shooting, which is a Muslim phrase. Why not title the thread "Man with long criminal record and gang ties shoots and kills 3"?? Why pick the one Muslim connection to focus on when there was a litany of things you could have posted?

Yeah...sorry, my bad. You just titled the thread that way. No way I should have interpreted that the way I did.

Because that information wasn't in the story?

He didn't title the thread the wrong way. He titled the thread with what actually happened.

I titled the thread based on what I read.

Absolutely and totally untrue. Maybe if the shooter was Kim Davis I might make mention of her Primitive Baptist appearance , but you need to let Kim Davis go. :) Most of the loves in my life , past and present, have been nowhere close to having hourglass figures. I like overweight, less attractive women.

Just an FYI he muttered the same phrase, as the enemies do to soldiers in the desert.

There are roughly 40-50 murders every day in this country. Why are we only posting about the ones committed by a guy who is Muslim?? Are the others not as important??

Had the killer been a white supremecist who randomly killed 3 black men, had a Facebook page espousing killing black people and yelled God is great when captured would that merit a thread?

Yes. And really it's not about threadworthiness. This country has a murder problem. The biggest issue is there are several possible motives, and other background info about this particular killer, and the the title of thread focuses strictly on one, which makes the thread particularly inflammatory.

He's choosing not to ignore their battle cry I guess.

I knew when I saw this story yesterday that Mountain Ref would be certain to post a thread about it. Didn't even have to look to see who the author of the thread was.

You are so smart.
