The sad part of this rivalry getting out of hand is that it isn't really the kids that feel that way. As InTheLoop says, it's about history of the adults (parents and administration). I'm not "from" Johnson county but have been here long enough for both of my kids to attend county schools for all 12 years. I just don't see the need or even any excuse to run up the score (as long as scoring when Paintsville goes for it on 4th and long in thier own territory, as they did 2 years ago late in the game, isn't considered running it up).

 

JC is much the better team and will win big, Coach Matney should get the subs in so they can get in on the action in this rivalry. Whatever your own personal history with either system is, the game is for and about the kids. Let's let them play it and make sure adults stay out of the trash talking and adolescent pranks. Dennis Dillon has done a great job filling in at the QB spot while JK Ratliff has been out been when he comes back from his broken collarbone, which could possibly be this week, he should be the starter. Taking nothing away from Dillon, but with Ratliff JC has a legit passing threat and this kid has earned.

Dillon has done aexcellent job!

In the past JC hasn't had the depth to replace an injured player but this year the kids have stepped up and not missed a beat.

I like Dennis and his brother Nathan. They both play big roles in Johnson Centrals football team. But, J.K. Ratliff earned his qb spot. Imo when J.K. is healed, he should be back under center. This decision will be left up to coach Matney. He will make the right decision.

I think 80% completions and 50% for tds is a lagit passing game.

JC has thrown maybe six passes in the past three games and I can only remember three completions and two of them was for touch downs on wide open pass plays. Your figures are wrong and the intent of your posts are obvious. What a flat out dumb time to be starting this garbage. It's amazing how some people will put there own personal goals over the goals of a team. This is a non issue and I can promise you that.

I have to agree with czar. Alot of players read the post on here and some take them way to serious. Why people are making posts that could hurt this team and school is crazy. We (JC fans) need to stick together on certain things, and the qb spot is one of those issues we need to stick together on. Matney will have the final say about this, BUT, the posts on bluegrasspreps.com can go alot farther than most people think.

The highest point total was 75 set in 2002, with Paintsville winning 45-30. The lowest scoring game was in 1982, Paintsville won 3-0, I assume those points came from a field goal.

No seriously, I done some research. They got a safety, then they had another safety, BUT the ref called it a half safety because at the this game was played a team couldnt get no more than 1 safety in a quarter. :lol:

IMO JK should start soon as he is able to he gives us a more rounded offensive attack .. We will get our passing game back. Dillion has done a great job at QB but soon as JK gets back let him have his position back

I think some fans are getting carried away with their predictions, JC should win this game. But this is the Apple Bowl and most of the time you can throw records out. You can bet that P'ville will give everything they have to try and win or make this a close game. History show that there has been close games when there shouldn't have been and blowouts when nobody expected it. Let's hope that this is an injury free game for both teams.

A comment was made in another post about the qb spot... something like "dont fix it if it isnt broken." I have said it before, and I will say it again... Dennis and Ian has done a wonderful job FILLING IN for J.K. Ratliff while he is out with a broken collar bone. When J.K. is healthy, he should and probably will be the starting signal caller.
