March 14, 20179 yr Don't disagree. However, they show zero respect for anyone else on the road. At least 2-3 times a day I see semis in the left or center lanes doing about 40 in a 65. Those idiots are backing up traffic for miles, all because they can't be inconvenienced to get the heck over into the right hand lane. Most are experienced drivers, but this is my biggest beef with them. At least once a week they're side by side on the AA in Maysville at a traffic light; one "accelerating" at about an eighth of a mile per hour faster than the other once the light turns.

Probably more to it than being lazy idiots...if traffic is heavy or in a congested area it's hard to get over sometimes, if they are in an area with a lot of exits and on ramps it's better to stay in the center or left lane to allow cars getting on and off the highway more room to enter and leave interstate. In some cases they may be in the left lane because they need to exit to the left or they know of a slow down ahead in the right lanes, via radio. 80%+ of non-semi versus semi wrecks are caused by the Non-Semi.

Is that last line an opinion or a statistic you found somewhere?
March 14, 20179 yr 80%+ of non-semi versus semi wrecks are caused by the Non-Semi. Do you have a source on that?
March 14, 20179 yr Is that last line an opinion or a statistic you found somewhere? Stat I found, I was shocked that it was that much for semi's...figured it would be even lower.
March 15, 20179 yr Do you have a source on that? This is a few years old, but I would guess the numbers would still be valid. 80 percent of car-truck crashes caused by car drivers, ATA report says
March 15, 20179 yr Truckers don't care about anybody else on the road but them. Will ride side by side for miles at 10 under the speed limit because they can't slow down enough to get behind the other guy. No respect for any one.
March 15, 20179 yr I can't tell you how many times I've seen a tractor-trailer driver dive into or out of the exit ramp lane or the left turn only lane!! YOU ARE A PAID PROFESSIONAL DRIVER, I EXPECT YOU TO BE BETTER THAN THE IDIOT CAR DRIVERS. Get the bluetooth phone out of your ear and pay attention. Buy a GPS, and do your homework on where you are going, and what tricky intersections you may encounter. I do if I've never been there before.

Don't group all truck drivers in the same category. The are def more bad truck drivers than ever out there. But there is a bunch of good ones too.
