Is there any other place better for the 15th Region Tournament? This just looks like a bad environment for a high school basketball game.

Is this arena similar to the one in Corbin?

 

It looks okay to me. Regions should be held at venues with plenty of seats and parking. This one has seats and I assume the parking is good too.

Heard ticket sales for last night were over 5,000. No where else in the region could hold such a crowd. From the pictures I seen the place was pretty full. ESP during the first semifinal game.

 

Now playing girls finals and boys semis on same night is not fair at all to the girls. They are rushed during celebrations and seem like more of an opening act. If you want to play them both on Saturday play the girls final at 2 and then. Boys semis at 630. But just my two cents.

The 11th Region plays at EKU. Boys semifinals on Saturday afternoon (1:30 and 3:15), girls championship at 7:30. Nobody gets short changed or rushed with that schedule. Playing girls, boys, boys like the 15th did seems to be asking too much.

Over 6000 in final ticket sales. EXPO was packed to say the least. They actually sold every concession they had and turned people away.

So they filled the place up by playing 3 games for one price of admission?

That was the reason I started this thread.

Most regions don't have the luxury of a Marshall County, Henry County, Mason County, Pulaski County, etc. so the next best option is the local university (Murray State, Morehead State, EKU, WKU, NKU) or a community arena (Expo Center, The Arena). Every region is different and "there is more than one way to skin a coon."
