Unless Garrison is accepted onto the team and with an underrated player graduating(Fox), don't think the Royals should be a top 2 mention, maybe 5. Watch Campbell and Scott again(unfortunately). Campbell with 3 important players back and Scott has another Ohmer along withPouncy and 3 others that saw significant time. Pendleton County should get top 3 love with Allen and a more than adequate supporting cast, but don't think Belcher( after the Harrison County district tournament debacle) can Coach them there.. Not quite sure how to interpret your comment on Coach Belcher. He won the two previous district titles and was 1-2 in regional play those two years. The two years previous to Belcher taking over, PC had no district wins. Nobody wins them all and yes, you lose some that you shouldn't. PC will take its chances with Coach Belcher.

Not too much else to say as your points are all valid, you win some, you lose some. Harrison County was awful this season and will only get better as will Robertson(both sleepers next year). I definitely agree that Harrison Co. will be much improved. Haven't seen Nicholas enough to make a judgment. If the site for the 38th district rotates as it has the last four years the Woodshed is indeed the site for 2017-18.

Mason returns everyone but Fox, which I do agree is a huge loss. Perkins may not fill up a stat sheet but he definitely makes a major impact when he's on the floor. Dunnaway and Lofton make up one of the best returning back courts in the region. They are legit. Wouldn't put them above GRC but they are right behind them.

 

Campbell and Scott both lose their major pieces. I don't see anyone on ether of those teams capable of leading a team to a regional title by themselves, and collectively they are less talented than the before mentioned.

 

The team that's going to be hard to read and unpredictable all year long will be Pendleton, they've got the best player in the region and it's not even close. Belcher can coach, and as long as they don't look ahead or get upset early they could be playing ball at Rupp at the end of the year

 

Also don't wanna leave out Paris and Montgomery County, sleepers for sure

This year I though Bracken, Scott, Paris, Campbell, GRC, Mason all had a shot at Region. Next year for me it's looking like Campebell, Mason, GRC.

Harsh. Belcher is an excellent coach.

After watching Harrison County in the regional tournament, it was very evident as to why they won 4 ballgames leading up to post season play. Not a very exciting group to watch, very blah in their style of play, didn't appear very disciplined. I am scratching my head as to how they beat Pendleton County! With that being said, losing only one senior there is I guess hope for this team, but I am not sure they max out in progression as a team under the current makeup of the program!

I know JV doesn't get enough love on this site but the Eagles did have a 8th grader run point for JV all year long and he did a tremendous job playing up. They also made it to the final four of the NKY JV tourney and finished with a record of 15-6. They all have things to work on (as all players do at this age) so time will tell about the Eagles...

 

Also this is my first post and I love the job everyone does on BGP to get KY kids noticed and recognized!

I know JV doesn't get enough love on this site but the Eagles did have a 8th grader run point for JV all year long and he did a tremendous job playing up. You're right. Your post was the only one I saw going in depth on teams (Which is greatly appreciated) instead of listing ranking and top players.

You've lost your mind!

Robertson Co has some good talent thats very very young, Eli Dotson will be good once he matures, but outside of Alex Schalch and Mason Burden I'm not sure where their offensive production will come from. They will struggle against teams that apply pressure.

 

Mason County will be solid, losing Fox hurts them as far as physicalness and rebounding, but I expect them to succeed without him. I would like to see Garrison come back and be the player that we saw him be in the 2016 season, he's got talent and would like to think he would do the right thing with his second chance.

 

Scott will be decent, IMO they'll struggle without Jake and if you watched them play this year without him on the court you'll agree with me.

 

Campbell loses their go to scorers, I felt as if they were lost without Heigy on the court in the regional tournament this year.

 

GRC is the best overall returning team as they literally lost nobody to graduation and will have experience. They're by far number 1 to me.

 

If Pendleton is gonna be a force Dontaie needs more help, that was proved in the Harrison Co game this year. If he gets support, watch out.
