  1. This will never hurt kids as long as its constructive and with passion, heck kids(girls) need a little animation and enthusiasm. I would rather have one with passion and enthusiasm. If players match their coach's passion then teams will be a tough out for anyone. I would rather watch that then the stick in the moods on the sidelines.
  2. Word on the street is that Reitz pulled his name. Stapleton makes the most sense, will work underneath from ground up and his roots are close by.
  3. 5 of the 12 spots taken by the head coach and assistant coaches team, now thats taking care of your own.
  4. What is DeSarae Chambers doing these days? I know she has some head coaching experience in the past.
  5. There are a couple of former head coaches on the Mason County bench in Jerry Ormes and Paula Buser that would be close to Bracken in location and fit the need of an experienced head coach.
  6. Don't feel sorry for the folks over at Bracken one bit, with the exception of the kids. They had a guy(Kelsch) that gave his heart and soul to Bracken and brought them tons of success only to have a bunch parents allowed to come in and run him out! Hope they get the next coach right! Lets hear some names as the next one to fill the role.
  7. I don't agree with you on this statement, jv games are an indication as to what a program is built on or around just as your freshmen teams, middle school teams, its starts with feeder system, and then your designated teams leading to varsity. If jv didn't matter, then why have the team and why play the games. In your schools case, what would a kid look forward to if it never got a chance to play varsity? Your jv kids as long as they are continuing to look into the window of new kids coming into the program will never play on the varsity level. I am not saying whats right and wrong with GRC and their new players, but don't make a statement that jv games don't matter. They do matter, they are used for the development and give kids necessary court time to prepare and gain in game confidence for the next level. Nothing replaces playing....
  8. The expectations and talk that was heard and put on about this group was totally unfair to these kids over the course of their career. Most of the talk that was heard was by families and fan base based on what this group of kids did at a young age playing summer basketball. Over the long run, other kids along with their teams got better along the way and winning regional titles are extremely hard to due. Thats why when your on the grand stage, you better embrace it because championships are not ever given, they are earned! Best of luck to that senior class!
  9. I think this is a thought amongst many but in the end, everything must line up on GRC end or would this be permitted to add players every year? If khsaa doesn't step in then all must be right and legal I guess???
  10. Those kids under Crean from my viewpoint last night did not play hard at all.
  11. Not saying your station hasn't been supportive- don't believe that was ever said! Said it would be an injustice if that decision was made!
  12. This is a injustice to the community of Winchester and the kids of GRC should this not be broadcasted!
  13. It would not surprise me if the following guys put in for this position. John Michael Reitz, great young and upcoming coach. He was on the bench at Fleming this past season. Chris Stapleton, top assistant at Scott which won its first regional title this season. Would Scott Humphrey be interested, wowser! Would a Jason Hinson look into this job? I am sure there are a lot of names in the Lexington area that are looking to become head coaches. Very intriguing job with location and in the 10th, just seems like it takes a bunch to satisfy the natives at Bourbon!
  14. After watching Harrison County in the regional tournament, it was very evident as to why they won 4 ballgames leading up to post season play. Not a very exciting group to watch, very blah in their style of play, didn't appear very disciplined. I am scratching my head as to how they beat Pendleton County! With that being said, losing only one senior there is I guess hope for this team, but I am not sure they max out in progression as a team under the current makeup of the program!
  15. Have no problem with the way Danny delivered the final action of the game. He is one of the best play by play guys across the state, and he was doing his job. He left me after listening to it as if I was there following every move. He gave the listeners the exact details of the final play from ball action, to shot that missed, to Ohmer getting the looose ball to him shooting the last shot. He did his job! Broadcasters are not suppose to steal the moment from the kids and what is happening in celebration, they are suppose to give you what happens on the floor. That he did folks!
  16. This is the best post in regards to a call that will be debated for a long time. The guy at mid court went on the reaction and noise from GRC fans and made the call. Watch the traffic in the paint, no way he sees the controversial play! No way- heck I can't make a 100 percent acurate call on the video! I will stick by my earlier post, no way the official the furthest away at mid court should make that call- no way! There is no way that can accurately be disputed! He made the game more about him than what it's supposed to be about- the kids! Best of luck to the 10th next week!
  17. The official at mid court sideline makes the travel call opposite side of the floor of him. Female official under the basket doesn't make the call, whether it's the right or wrong call, no way you toot the whistle and decide the game that way. Terrible way for any team to go down with a ref decision, especially the ref 30 feet away!
  18. Bracken County girls basketball program took at least 2-3 step backwards when they didn't retain Patrick Kelsch as their head coach! Brackens loss was Robertson Counties gain! He is passionate and can flat out coach! Congrats to RC and Coach K on a fine season!
  19. Coach Watson did a great job preparing. The 10th and Bourbon County is very fortunate to have him leading the Lady Colonels. Great game plan, he made his kids believe they could compete in this game, hats off to them. A couple of missed rebounding opportunities down the stretch that Bourbon didn't get ended up hurting them in the end as second chance points in the final 2 minutes kept Campbell close.
  20. Behanan I agree should be on that list but really all of GRC's newcomers to join the team this year should make the list. They are all good!
  21. Totally agree with Steve Harvey. The Crawford technical and the timing of it was all about officials wanting to control the outcome and how the game played out and taking control. Was it warranted, most likely yes. There was a lot of the hand clapping in the face back and forth by both teams throughout the game and several times taunting could have been called. You clean that stuff up way before the last minute of the ball game.
