Holmes at Ryle Predictions

Featured Replies

Holmes has been a tad streaky this year eh?

Big win against S. Laurel. Big first half followed by a disaster half against Holy Cross. Dominating win over Pendleton Co. District win against Holmes......could this one be closer than most think?

Ryle getting healthy and set to roll? Or will slow starts like against NCC and Campbell County allow this one to be closer than most think?

Thoughts?

I think Ryle wins, but not by near as much as most think. I think the dawgs will put a scare into them before its all over. They seem much improved as a team this season.

I think Ryle wins by a bunch somewhere in the 35-7 range.

Ryle Rolls. Blow-out city baby. 38-10

Hate to say it, but Holmes generally struggles with teams who like to run, run, run. Last year both Gray and Murray had HUGE games. Field position will be huge in this game. Holmes doesn't really have a kicker where as Ryle has one who booms it into the endzone almost everytime. I think Holmes keeps it close in the first half then Ryle pulls away in the second half.

I'll have a predicition on the score later in the week, but right now I'm going to have to take Ryle in a close one.

(BTW..interesting fact, this Holmes senior class never lost to Ryle's senior class..Freshman or JV...but I know that means nothing.)

Holmes won't score 10...they don't have a kicker  It'd be safer to give them 12 or 14 :D

Maybe I'm predicting a TD, a two point conversion and a safety.

The Dawgs are coming off of a strong road win against Conner and I look for this to be a close game with the team making the least amount of mistakes coming out on top hopefuly the guys can bring a W back to Covington.

Holmes is going to have a real tough time scoring. They are just not tough enough up front to compete. Ryle 35-7

It all depends on which Holmes' team shows up. IMO, this game could go either way. Based on the way both have played this year, I would go with Ryle as they've played the most consistent.

Ryle 21-7.

It all depends on which Bulldog team shows up. If Holmes comes out and gets and early lead, look out. If they put the ball on the ground, have a bunch of penalties, etc. it could get very ugly. I think the Ryle D once again gets "lucky" and forces a bunch of turnovers.

Ryle 41

Holmes 12

Both teams are improved from last year. Ryle won by 34 last year at Holmes. Holmes will have to play superior ball to hang around for 4 quarters in this one. Ryle's homecoming = Raider victory. Only the margin is in question.

This will be all Ryle.

Holmes struggled to put points up on Conner and the Cougars and my Eagles are the two weakest teams in 4A.

I was looking at the stats in the Post tonight and I saw where Jefferson has only thrown 20 passes all season.

How is that? Other than maybe a soft schedule has Holmes had not to throw the ball.

Ryle on the other hand has faced a tough schedule and will likely shut down the Holmes running game forcing them to throw the football.

Can Holmes? Sure doesn't seem like it.

Ryle will likely end up wearing Holmes down behind the running of Scottie Gray.

I see Ryle winning by at least 3 scores.
