Final per the KHSAA scoreboard.

Nice win for the Spartans. On to the 11th Region tournament.

Would this be an upset?

A small one, perhaps.

Henry Clay had beaten Sayre 60-44 in early January.

Sayre has been playing quality basketball here of late...beat South Laurel couple weeks ago.

First regional appearance since 1998 for Sayre. Spartans, behind Brad Nahra, lost to Madison Central in the semifinals that season.

Congrats Sayre!

I was wondering when was the last time Sayre made the region.

For some reason this is listed as an OT game but it ended in regulation. Sayre led most of the game and was ahead by 10-12 for last 6-7 minutes before HC hit a few uncontested shots in the closing seconds. Another big win for the Spartans. Jake Duby with 37 pts and 9 rbs and RJ Smith with 17 and 11.

Daniel Brown has to be on a hot seat by now

Hahaha no chance. You don't know much about athletics in Fayette County if you think that. They don't fire people over wins and losses.

Daniel is no way on the hot seat, does a great job period.

Meh, he had the best team in Lexington for 3 years straight at one time and didn't do anything with them. Has had at least 3 first Rd district exits, only one Region Finals appearance, with multiple 1st and 2nd round exits with the favored team. Not that impressive imo.
