That should go over well here!

Right decision.

When a protester enters a public roadway and is blocking traffic they stop being a protester and start being a criminal IMO.

UT fans pour into the streets around Neylan celebrating miracle win over Alabama. All streets are blocked by yelling and screaming Vols. An irate Bama Fan drives through them, mowing down several.

Defense: They were blocking the streets and protesting Bama.

He's still guilty of a crime, just can't be sued.

Problem is, many will read that and think they can "Mow em down"....this is free from Civil Liability not free from Criminal charges.

Call me extreme, those protesting and blocking roads, especially interstates should be prosecuted with felonies.

Right decision.

What is the crime that makes them a criminal? Assuming there are no trespassing laws for a specific road or highway, what law is being broken?

I'm certainly not well versed, but I believe that the charge could easily be obstructing traffic.

That's fine. Cite them and fine them. Still doesn't make them a criminal in my book.

It's about to be open season on protesters in the state of TN.

If you commit a crime, you are by definition a criminal.

And if people want to run over someone, they can be penalized (more severely) than those protesting.

So your speeding ticket makes you a criminal?

Does in mine. Now I'm not talking about a Women's March that has a permit or something like that.

But if you block a major road, interstate, or intersection, you are absolutely doing something criminal in my mind. Just because you have something worthy of protesting, doesn't give you the right to do that.

So your speeding ticket makes you a criminal?

Pretty much...

Pretty much...

Then that would make the majority of American adults criminals in your book, meaning placing the criminal tag on these protestors doesn't really hold much weight.
