Once again no one seems to be answering the question. Sean is a beast . Love his game . Best player on coopers team not even close . In my opinion he should be playing higher . And your fooling yourself with all the " he loves Bellermine " talk . He loves Bellermine because he didn't have a d1 offer. Sean can play in the mac or ovc as Clyde stated . Seems like he has been over looked and that's odd to me. I'm very clear how Sully treats the kids trust me my point is you end up where your game takes you. However kids get overlooked and passed up and I believe schools made a mistake . Surprised to hear Rick Rude put down Sean's atheltism and his non game in the summer time . Your better than that and I'm sure his Dad would think the same of you .

Quit putting words in my mouth. Never one time put down his game or athleticism!!!!! I SAID that summer ball is where you are noticed most and EVALUATED by college coaches. I also LOVE his game and also think he could play at a mid major D-1 program. Some kids do get over looked and I'm sorry that this may have happened to Sean. Again, did you watch how he played this summer because I didn't. I only know that college coaches evaluate kids more over the summer while playing against other top competition.

Not a jab at all and never once mentioned Tims name . Stop trying to start something that isn't here . I'm stating my opinion that Sean is a d1 level player and the cov cath kids are going d1. Seems like a fair question ....

Name one kid that is playing D1 under Coach R that got a full ride all 4 yrs.

Thank you. That was the point I was about to make. Cole von Handorf is going D2. Ruthsatz' son is playing at Findlay. I mean if Ruthsatz has all these connections why is his own son not playing at a higher level program.

Coaches don't get players scholarships and programs don't get the players scholarships.

He is signed with Bellarmine (D-II). If a D-I offer comes along what would it take for him to break from Bellarmine and commit and sign with the D-I school?

This is a process question - not intended to spark a moral/ethical debate.

Great point.

So many on here get caught up on the "D-I" tag.

Bellarmine is D-II but plays at a very high level. Currently ranked #1 in the Midwest in the latest poll and #4 nationally. Their roster is full of DI type talent and a lot of it is from KY.

The X factor in all of this is how well the staff at Bellarmine does in recruiting these kids. They make the kids feel special, making the kids want to be a part of a highly successful national program.

Sean McNeil is an excellent basketball player and made a great choice. I'm sure he could have held out and eventually been recruited and played in the MAC or OVC - then beat his chest as a D-I signee. I gather that's not his style and he will be much happier helping the Knights build on their recent successes.

Great point.

Nick did pretty well to get $ at Findlay. He was an extremely successful HS player and ended up at a very good D-II program. Fairmont State (CVH destination) is the #1 ranked D-II program in the country - another great landing spot.

I think Ruthsatz had something to do with these players landing at those programs. ANY coach is going to answer questions from the college recruiters about ceiling, work habits, leadership characteristics, etc. If that HS coach is credible and gives a glowing review, it will absolutely help the player get to the best situation possible. It also doesn't pay for a HS coach to mis-represent - just hurts his credibility and the next kid in line for $ at the program.

Another factor could be about the kid - do you want to go D-I and sit or go D-II and play? There is a difference in level of competition - a kid might be good enough to be 10th man at a D-I school, but also get recruited over year after year and play scout team with the walk-ons. Is that a better experience than seeing the court at D-II? Up to the kid.

Ruthsatz is very credible and IMO influenced where his players landed. Sullivan is also very credible and would be no detriment to his players' recruitment.
