All I got from this thread is Simon is into Moral victories and someone is offended by cuss words:isurrender:

 

Why do you think they consider this a Moral victory?

Why do you say... "Coming from that school and being on a visitors court it was surprising". Would you have been less surprised to hear him say it at a home game?

I absolutely think it does. I was taught that if your at someone else's place you act with respect unless they don't show the same. While it still isn't the thing to do, if their shool administration, parents and coaching staff think it's ok, I don't have to go to the game in Park Hills. But when your on anothers court around their kids, mothers and grandparents he needs to act appropriate period. He's plenty old enough to know that. There is a big difference in coaching hard and what he did in that circumstance. And I don't have a problem using that word as an adult, just not in that circumstance.

What make it worse for me was that there was grandparents sitting right behind him (and I heard him across the court). If I were to have used that word in front of an older person much less my grand parents. My dad would have had me collecting my teeth off of the floor.

11 point loss to CCH is not bad. I would say FB74 is very happy.

You know the only person that was directed to was SKs #1 fan.

 

No moral victory here they got beat but came close to winning and actually lead some of the game. I am more worried about them winning the 8th region!

If you guys are complaining about a coach saying a cuss word then you guys need to get out more! Coaches cuss on all levels and all sports! This is just a big deal because it was someone on Covington Catholic coaching staff that said it during a game!

Hopefully you didn't graduate from CCH. Because if that's all you got out of this was that, then I have another thing to be disappointed with CCH about. LOL!!!

Goodness boys , the Coach made a mistake . Had zero to do catholic , prodistant or even Muslim school and even thou entertaining, it's a dead horse their student section gets away with more than they should. Fact is SK gave cov Cath all they wanted but lost. Nuff said.

Fun game to watch. CovCath the more talented and the better team on the scoreboard last night. But, SK is a talented team as well and it is finally starting to show in the final result of their games.

 

Pioneers getting guys to play within their roles/strengths on the offensive end and I like what they've been doing on the defensive end. Should make for an interesting 32nd tourney. Like someone said earlier, can't imagine a better 4 seed in any district.

 

I only see CovCath a couple of times a year but I sensed a frustration with them last night that I don't usually see; both the coaches and players. Not sure if it was a disbelief that they couldn't bury a team with some bad quality L's or the fact that they weren't playing well....or maybe it was the fact that they weren't used to the 8th Region referees. Actually wasn't called all that bad compared to what I've seen in the 8th but that didn't show in their faces and reactions. That certainly didn't help their cause with the stripes with subsequent calls.

 

On the cursing front; I don't condone but unfortunately it has become a coaching style of many. I don't often hear it screamed across a gym like that but if you get close to most benches, you are going to hear it. Wouldn't throw too many stones at that glass house.

I don't understand why SK fans are upset over the language. They should be mad that he made $2500 in the parking lot before the game selling Catholics vs. Convicts shirts!

The coached cussed during the game doesn't really bother me but I could only wonder how the kids get yelled at in the locker room or at practice behind closed doors. Glad I am not sending my kid to CovCath.

So your saying no coach at SK may say a curse word in front of their players?

 

Hmmmm... I know a few coaches that may want this topic to go away

 

Let's also not kid ourselves, do we really believe that is the first time any of these kids have heard that? On either team?

Football Forver where are you sending you kid ? To SK where I witnessed a coach cuss a 8th grader out to the point he was in tears in the huddle ......

I heard that he went to confession and for his penence the priest had him say three Our Fathers and two Hail Mary's and one Glory Be and now all is forgiven.
