Yes, I do know what a theory is? Laws of science are factual, theories are not. Theories are based on the researchers facts. Supply/demand is not a law of science.

Yes. I believe a totally free, capitalistic, every man for himself society is doomed to failure and is not drastically different from Feudal society.

So we have someone on here who works in education , helping mold young minds. But you don't use logic when making all your decisions and your on here disputing basic economic principles. I don't want to.get in a detailed argument because it will be boring that is why I kept it generic. It is now good to know not to engage on any discussion of economic principles because you do not base your opinion on reason, logic , or basic economic principles. You are basically saying you go with what makes you feel good and that is dangerous on so many levels.

 

Never said that logic isn't important, In fact what Friedman said to give money to those in poverty and let them budget defies logic of what people in poverty really do. I am not an economist and never professed to be. Your judgments are incorrect because our beliefs are different. But that is the world we live in. To the contrary me feelings do not drive my decisions, but my understanding of how humans react in certain situations did. Education is more than content knowledge, it is understanding theories and principles of learning and applying them to each individual. Piece of cake. As an educator, I wish it was all content knowledge, it is far from it. So whether a kid knows certain knowledge such as a theory of supply/demand, is not even remotely determining his/her success.

 

Being a divergent thinker, solving problems, understanding all sides of an argument: plus hard work, efficient use of time, and respecting others is all part of it.

 

Maybe some will understand there are many layers to about everything if humans are involved. I really wish I could have made decisions that made me feel god, unfortunately many were gut wrenching. I don't know how some feel but I never felt good expelling a child from their educational opportunity, but sometimes I had to. Sounds really easy until you have to do it.

 

So yep, if I missed the boat on supply/demand according to you or others, well, I missed the boat I will figure out how to find another boat or maybe a train or an airplane and try again.

I don't believe your question is serious, but I will humor you by explaining one of many differences to you. There was no upward mobility among serfs because they had no right to own private property.

 

In a free market system, such as ours once was, a man or woman could arrive from Vietnam or Ethiopia with little or no English language skills and become a wildly successful American citizen. Thanks to creeping socialism, it is more difficult for immigrants to succeed than it was for Vietnamese boat people, but it is still possible.

 

Liberals have been so successful in convincing poor people that it is through no fault of their own that they are poor, that it is much easier for newly arrived immigrants to succeed than it is for second, third, or fourth generation poor American citizens. Liberal politicians have raised manufacturing victims for political purposes to an art form.

I'm going to ask again , are you being serious? You are comparing freedom of Feudal time to the freedoms given to us today ? You are literally comparing a system where a majority were serfs or basically slaves to a system where every indivdual is guaranteed personal liberties. We have the freedom of choice.

The term "serf" has its root in the Latin "servus," which means "slave." In the feudal system, the line between nobility and serfdom was a pretty solid one. Liberals' definition of freedom is obviously much different than my definition.

That in and of itself is why we see all these crazy protests on college campuses and shutting down free speech.

While these kids anger me when I see them, I also find myself feeling sorry for them. Our education system has failed them in a big way...
