I guess there should have been more guidelines put in place, but here was the bet at our SB party...predict final score, closest to the final outcome wins.

 

Final score Pats 34-Atl 28

 

Bettor A: Pats 31-Atl 27

 

Bettor B: Pats 34-Atl 24

 

Who wins?

A because of point differential.

I say B because he got one score exactly right.

B also had a bigger point spread in their initial total score. A was closer to the point spread.

I voted A, but in hindsight, I'd have them split the winnings or do a coin flip.

Wasn't my pool, I just joined the pot, but I'm thinking more and more that I had claim to the money...I was bettor A by the way.

They split the pot. Total points scored is the deciding factor and both missed the score by the same amount.

I like the split idea because apparently there was not tiebreaker discussion. If I had to choose, I would go with B because they got the winners score right....unless I liked person A better.

Ugh. That's a terrible structure all around.

 

Give everyone their money back and have a much better pool next year.
