There are a lot of good teams on the east and the west that either would have to handle first. Second, December is a long ways a way and both these teams will be different teams by then. Hopefully better, but a key injury on either team could make it very difficult.

I hope Mecer does get to play Russell this year. It means both of us will be playing at Poppa Johns for a state title. I think that it definitely could happen. Both teams are outstanding. And until someone beats them, Russell is the 2A state champs. I don't thinktheir going to relenquish it without a battle. But it sure is a battle I would like to see.

Mercer and Belfry are better than Russell. But it will be a dogfight between these 3 late in the season!

I watched Russell play last year at Pappa John's and I know first hand that they are the real deal! Casey Clark could possibly be the best back in 2A. All i know about Mercer is hear say, so until i see them play i will go with Russell.

 

P.S. Russell could only get better from last year....... look out!

Have you seen them play? Western TOP to BOTTOM is probably a little faster than MC. They may not have anyone faster than CJ but last time I checked it was a team game.

I watched Russell play last year at Pappa John's and I know first hand that they are the real deal! Casey Clark could possibly be the best back in 2A. All i know about Mercer is hear say, so until i see them play i will go with Russell.

They were very good last year. I hear that they didn't loose too awful much. With a little work ethic they could have only get better.

That's what I like about this Mercer team. No longer than they have been playing together they really seem to be coming together as a tight group. That defense will flat out get after you and hit you.

Russell was not a very good team in the game you watched. But you as a Tomcat fan should know that one game does not define your season. I do think one of those three teams will win the AA state title.

A good measuring stick for you would be LCA...you guys played them last week and MC opened with them.
