Who is #8 for Western? He really impressed my against North Laurel.

There are a lot of good teams on the east and the west that either would have to handle first. Second, December is a long ways a way and both these teams will be different teams by then. Hopefully better, but a key injury on either team could make it very difficult.

Great post...and that is a key advantage for Mercer. They are just SO DEEP in every position. An injury (even to their backfield) could be absorbed. There is just not enough touches to go around for everybody.

Have you seen them play? Western TOP to BOTTOM is probably a little faster than MC. They may not have anyone faster than CJ but last time I checked it was a team game.

Yes I've seen Western play....it's not even CLOSE. Mercer is so much faster top to bottom side to side upside down and backwards than Western it is laughable to discuss it.

Western is fast. Mercer is faster.

Would be an interesting game though. I think Western is a very good team.

Mercer and Belfry are better than Russell. But it will be a dogfight between these 3 late in the season!

 

 

IYO. Now, I know you haven't seen Mercer. Russell played horrible when you saw them and they are alot better than what you saw. Just like Ashland was alot better of a team then what they showed against Raceland.

Mmm, Russell is definitely not better than last year if you ask me. What makes you think so?

 

 

Maybe the fact they have 28 seniors back from that last year's team. Russell has not played well the 1st 3 weeks but trust me, they will come playoff time. Last year's squad started out the same way. You have to peak at the right time to win the ring.

I hope they do play. It would be a highly anticipated game. I don't think Mercer will care who they play. But, with Russell being the champ I see them wanting to get ahold of Mercer.
