We can talk about the various points of it, but if the draft is a real draft then it's something they're working on and so decidedly not a "non-issue".

How many times have you seen a subordinate prepare a first draft for his immediate supervisor's feedback, only to have it trashed, and rewritten? We have no way of knowing whether this is a first draft, a final draft, or something in between. Without knowing who wrote the draft and whose feedback may have been incorporated into it, there really is not much of substance worth considering, IMO.

Serious question...what has Trump done that would make anyone think he is homophobic or against the LGBT community? He really seems to not give a rats you know what about sexual orientation but yet he gets labeled as a homophobe. Maybe I am missing something. Or, assuming that the draft is genuine, a staffer could have put together a rough draft for Trump, or for another staff member to review. Have you ever drafted legal documents or business demand letters for an attorney's review? I have. Many times. Most of the time my drafts and the signed final product were much different. Important legal documents usually go through multiple review and revise cycles before they are finalized. Trump did not create the draft and he did not sign it. This is another huge non-issue.

What is irrelevant to you is not necessarily irrelevant to everybody else. I think most of these threads based on unattributed leaks are nothing but cheap political shots at Trump, but I respect other members' opinions to the contrary. We may wish that we could write both sides of a debate, but that is just not how this process works.

Donald, who really isn't a traditional type Republican who only ran as one because there is presently no chance to become the president within our two party stranglehold, chose Pence to appease to the far right Christian Republicans to try to cover all of his electorate base.

 

Donald may not verbally speak out against gays, but it does speak volumes to underhandedly select a guy with Pence's history regarding the topic, and it's a bit unsettling that he is now only a heartbeat away from being our president.
