B) Sites for Play

1) District tournament sites shall be selected by a site selection plan approved by a unanimous vote of the schools eligible to compete in each district tournament. If a district is unable to resolve conflict over the plan, the Commissioner shall establish a plan.

2) Only schools which are members of the Association prior to January 1 of the year in which the tournament is held, and having a schedule of twelve (12) or more basketball games shall be allowed to vote for the district tournament location or participate in the tournament.

3) Criteria to be considered by the schools for the district tournament include but are not limited to:

a) Satisfactory capacity within the facility to safely accommodate

past (five years) and expected attendance numbers;

b) Enough dressing rooms if double headers are to be played; c) An officials dressing room;

d) Adequate parking for projected attendance; and

e) meet the published site selection criteria for basketball as

posted on the KHSAA website.

I think it really just shows how much fear and respect the other teams in the district have for Coach Hinson and his Polar Bears. They all three have banded together to attempt to stand in the way between him and another district championship.

Mason never banded with anybody. They voted like they always have. Augusta was the school that changed their vote to try to get back at Bracken. Also, I don't believe Mason is shaking in their boots worried about Coach Hinson and the Polar Bears.

The only thing standing between BC and a district title is 64 minutes. Site and match-ups don't matter to district champions.

This is the first time since the new district was alignied in 2006 that district rotation was brought up. Now it is up to Julian Tackett to decide and I doubt he change anything. Augusta and Saint Patrick had this pre-planned because they were sitting at the table together during the draw (Evan Dennison tweeted a photo). So Mason/Augusta/St Pat tried to scare Bracken with invalid vote thinking Bracken wouldn't realize it. This is great.

Chris O'Hearn is on the KHSAA Board of Control for the 9th and 10th regions. Shouldn't he have know about this rule?

Maybe someone can take a picture of them watching us play in the region.

Interesting assessment .... but I don't think that's the reason.

Based on Coach Hinson's track record in the postseason, you should be.

How many of you think Augusta would vote to have District at the Fieldhouse with last years team?... Doubt they would.

Doubt many care

Chris O'Hearn has absolutely nothing to do with Board of Control in 9th region.

You must have alternative facts then. IMG_0091.JPG

This isn't the first time a district involving Augusta, Mason County, and St.Patrick are in a snit.

In 2000 in the aforementioned district, it was Augusta's turn to "host" the district. Of course, the logical choice was the Fieldhouse, However, Augusta chose to host it at Fleming County.

I'm quoting this off of the top of my head, but pretty sure I've got my facts correct. Anyone else remember that situation??????

I appreciate your love fest for Coach Hinson, but how good were they in post season last year? Actually how good at BC. Coach Hinson has said to many people that his teams at Bracken have been much harder to coach. There lack of post season success has nothing to do with coach Hinson's ability, but more his lack of player commitment.
