I still don't think the Twins lived up to the hype at UK, say what you will. How come 3 Ky boys can help Louisville? Willis and Hawkins both help UK now.

I don't think anyone has said they lived up to the huge hype they had coming in, but just because they didn't live up to that huge hype doesn't mean they were bad.

You could take Hawkins over the twins every day of the week. However 2 Hawkins on the team instead of the twins don't get them to the title game in 2014 or undefeated all year in 2015.

Hawkins is what he is. A guy who can come in and play his butt off for while giving starters a rest. No more no less.

Because UL doesn't traditionally have as much talent on their team?

That's not a dig against UL because Pitino gets a lot out of his players, but it's true.

Miller, 2008's Kentucky Mr. Basketball while playing for Mason County, completed his UK career as the steady and efficient sixth man (logging 26.1 minutes and scoring 9.9 points per game) on the 2012 National Champion squad. He also played starter's minutes for Cal's first two UK teams, including a career high of 1,178 on the '10-'11 Final Four team (also leading the group in FT% [85%] and contributing 10.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game).

Key Stats: 152 games played and 1,248 career points

Miller is the all-time UK leader for games played and also the only 'Cat from the Cal Era in the top 35 (#34) in career scoring, ahead of other 4-year UK legends such as Deron Feldhaus (#34), Chuck Hayes (#40), Wayne Turner (#42), and Dirk Minniefield (#51), among many others.

We all like Darius Miller. He was a great Wildcat.

What's your point?

Just cause Darius Miller had a great career doesn't mean that Hawkins should have played more minutes than the Twins. It also doesn't mean that we should take minutes away from Monk, Fox, and Briscoe. Hawkins is a great role player to have and I am a fan of him. But what does Darius Miller have to do with him?

Its not what I am saying at all.

1. When UK has won national titles a kid from UK has been a major contributor

2. There are (5) kids on UK and UofL teams now from our state, and are all 5 helping their teams

This is what I am saying

For Kentucky to win a title this year, we will need a KY player to be a major contributor. But it's Willis that it would be, not Hawkins.

If Willis isn't a major contributor on this team, that's gonna be on him, not Calipari.

Back to the classic, we need KY players. So tiresome.

I for one wouldn't change a thing about his recruiting except maybe get a more facilitating point guard on every roster like Ulis. The thing that needs to change is the approach to defense.

Kentucky's Defensive Efficiency Rankings Under Cal:

2010: 6th

2011: 18th

2012: 8th

2013: 90th

2014: 32nd

2015: 1st

2016: 39th

2017: 13th

So 5 of the 8 years, they've had a top 20 defense. Two others have been top 40, and then there was the 2013 team which was just crap.

I don't really think defense is an issue.

Good for you. They are a 1 trick pony on defense. They have to have a shot blocker to be effective. They make no adjustments in games that they can't just overwhelm the opponent with length and athleticism.

Okay. The ratings and analytics say otherwise, but okay...

The ratings and analytics say they play alot of teams they are simply better than and some years they have a shot blocking eraser, try to keep up.

Massey ratings which also does adjusted defense by opponent has Kentucky #81 in the nation.

You can believe whatever you want. I'll stick with kenpom....

Get back to me Saturday. Lets see how far above average we let Kansas leading scorer go.

Mason can score 50 for all I care as long as Kentucky gets the W...

You don't understand defense then. And you wont be watching many deep tournament games this year if they don't fix it. I'll take the process over the result in the regular season. The goal is to win 6 in a row in March.
