This might be one of the worst Holmes teams how to you lose to beechwood 2 straight years hats off to the tigers they lit it up and simply out played Holmes and wanted it more

These games mean nothing in the big scheme of things. Unless Dixie proves otherwise in a couple of weeks it's a 2 team regional with CCH and Cooper at the top. It would be a shame if those 2 teams draw same side in the regional too.

Upsets do happen. Newport was one free throw away from upsetting Cov. Cath. a couple of years ago. Any favorite in the regional better be ready to play or they will be heading home with an early exit.

I totally agree and some of the big teams have a tendency to peak too early. I know the Colonels are the favorite but they aren't even playing their best basketball right now if you ask those in the know.

Actually it was Beechwood's upset of HC that created the tiebreaker because HC had already beaten Holmes and CCH

Sure, every team would love to win their region, and obviously only one can, and obviously some teams have no chance at all, but there's more reasons for every player on every team than taking the top prize, for they experience the thrill and pride of playing for their high school, personal development physically and mentally, and the joy and benefits of learning teamwork with a group of their friends and teammates, not to mention the lifetime of lasting memories created, and the excitement they share with their families, and the whole student body, and all of the other participants such as the cheerleaders and pep bands.

Awesome post. Now add on top of that the thrill of entering the arena against longstanding rivals and you have the makings of memories that will assuredly leave footprints to be relived time and again.

This reminds me when the "talking heads" on national sports shows bash the relevance of college football bowl games outside the playoffs or NY day games. Don't tell me there's not countless more freshman, sophomores, juniors & especially seniors that cherish every moment of playing these final games. 99% will never step foot on an NFL field.

 

It's all relative.

 

And there's not one of us out there who ever played competitive sports that wouldn't want to lace them up again.
