January 15, 20179 yr Author A good scripture in Sunday school this morning. Maybe I was being conformed to thinking its worse than it seems. I know it's bad but hopefully in the grand scheme it's not. All this stuff has made people pick sides and get carried away. Me included Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
January 15, 20179 yr Interesting that one action by one democrat means that all democrats stand for that but when one republican does or says something racist it is an isolated incident. That applies to a lot of things, specifically police. When one is accused of doing something wrong, some people judge them all. The picture for example...one officer shoots someone, they're all pigs. As for defending the painting, how many have been on the "keep it up" side that we know of? How many of them are democrats?

PP, I have not heard one Dem say they disagree with the painting. If some have, I say good for them. I just have not heard. Now I may not have heard because nobody is asking them. This is how the MSM works. If a R says or does something controversial, the MSM RUNS to other R's to get their opinion in efforts to get the R's to disagree or fight with each other. This happened 100 times during the election season. If a D says or does something controversial, the other D's are pretty much left alone. That is why the R's should put it in campaign ads and make the D's either defend it or condemn it. Just a good political move IMO.

Couldn't tell you. I wasn't one who said keep it up or one who defends the picture and I'm a democrat.

The extent of hearing about the picture has been in this thread. I think it is naive to believe that all Ds support this picture just because you haven't heard any denounce the picture. I never heard any Rs denounce that cat from KY who ran for a state office and made racist statements about Obama on his Facebook page right before the election and he still won. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of Rs who denounced his actions but I never heard any denounce him.

January 16, 20179 yr The picture is beyond disgusting. I say the R's should leave it up and talk about it A LOT. Every time the D's pull garbage like this, they lose more House and Senate seats. More and more people in this country are just getting sick and tired of this non-sense... The painting is art and illustrates a viewpoint that a portion of disillusioned America holds. Maybe Congressmen need to see it. I say keep it up, and let everyone be happy. Those "disillusioned" Democrats will get to "stick it in the eye" of the police; and the Republicans will get to watch the Dems lose more seats. Sounds like a win/win to me.
January 16, 20179 yr I never heard that or seen that. We discussed it on here in a thread but it never had its own actual thread. Kentucky State House candidate wins despite racist Facebook posts - NY Daily News
January 16, 20179 yr Author We discussed it on here in a thread but it never had its own actual thread. Kentucky State House candidate wins despite racist Facebook posts - NY Daily News I saw where the NY and Wash Post had put cartoons in their paper depicting Obama as a monkey. Did someone send this stuff to him and share it or did he copy it and start that? I have never thought of blacks as being associated with monkeys but an old woman was walking down the street and told a bunch of little kids playin in a tree, she said you little monkeys get out of the tree before you get hurt, there were white and black kids in the tree and she was labeled a racist. She meant what it should have meant, kids do act like monkeys, especially mine.

He posted a picture of a baby chimpanzee and said it was Obama's baby picture. It has always been considered racist to call black people monkeys, apes, orangutans, gorilla, etc.

January 16, 20179 yr That's an old article. Yet it wasn't posted anywhere in the thread....hence the reason for providing some additional information.
January 18, 20179 yr I bet the painter wishes he put the pig in the back of the painting. His message is completely ignored.
