Boom Williams to enter NFL Draft

Featured Replies

Looked at some draft boards and didn't even see Boom in the top 20 (although most only go to 10-15). Very deep RB class this year and I share the sentiment as some that he may not even get drafted. I could see him rounds 5-7 or as an UDFA, but cannot see him going before that.

The combine and pro day will be big for him if he wants to climb up the boards.

I think he'll make a real decent shot at getting drafted. At UK they didn't really use him in the passing game, and I think he has potential to be a good receiving back.

Here's a novel idea -- he stays in school and works toward a degree so he has something to show for the years he spent as a student athlete at UK.

Let's call it plan B if the NFL thing doesn't work out

Sounds like the right thing to do, but when these kids see their dream right in front of them, most of them don't think twice about going for it, unfortunetly it usually doesn't work out and they need that degree.

Why? An injury and his Nfl dreams are gone. Even if he gets drafted late and is even just a practice squad player. He still is making more money each year than 75% of people do who graduate from college.

College isn't going anywhere, he can always go back and finish his degree in less than a year if he wants to.

Will he wear shorts in the NFL? I'm guessing that would be a hefty fine.
