You've had your head buried in the sand if you think it's been limited to the SEC in football. Every year people talk about how horrible the SEC is in basketball. They talk about how amazing the ACC is.

 

Heck, you yourself have been doing the same thing on here with football. You've clamored about how bad the Big 12 is and how they weren't deserving of a team in the playoff and how the B1G should get two teams in because of how great a conference they were.

There wasn't a good team in the Big XII it has nothing to do with the strength of the conference besides the fact their best team (Oklahoma) isn't very good. Ohio State and Penn State were 2 of the 4 best teams. The rest of the conference could be trash, doesn't change the fact that Ohio State and Penn State are really good. The SEC doesn't get that treatment. As long as Bama is still good the rest of the conference must be good too. The ACC in basketball is at the point where the SEC was in football 8 years ago. They have an unproportionate number of good teams in their conference. But nobody doubts the greatness of UK, Kansas, MSU, etc. just because they are not in the ACC. For the longest time in college football if your team wasn't in the SEC you were treated as inferior because of it. The SEC bias still exists even though the conference isn't dominant anymore. That's what is frustrating.

Actually, every conference has, and always will do it. The SEC has just cornered the market on it the past 15+ years with tangible results. Pundits, fans, etc. have been sizing up conferences since conferences were created.

They are 1-4 but the good SEC teams will be playing soon. Texas A&M is the only real disappointment so far. I thought they were better than they showed.

Werent you the one saying PSU should be in the playoff? Now that I'm saying it it's ridiculous? The SEC, ACC, B1G, etc. aren't schools. Chant Go Duke, Roll Tide, Geaux Tigers, whatever I don't care. But don't chant SEC, ACC, etc. I just want people to root for their schools and root against their rivals. Is that too much to ask. What happened to good old fashioned hatred of your rivals instead of cheering for them because of some silly illusion that it makes your team look better.

Also, why do you care who or what people root for? I'd prefer to spend my energy worrying about my team than concerning myself on who everyone else is rooting for.
