December 20, 20169 yr Didn't watch the video. Still, is Christianity a religion of Christ? Would Christ have instigated the Crusades? Or the Spanish Inquisition? Or the murder of Galileo? Or burning Joan of Arc at the stake? Or the Hugeunot Wars? Or the medieval witch hunts? Or the Salem witch hunts? Would Christ have applauded the sexual abuse of the Catholic Priests? Would Christ have spurred on the Ku Klux Klan? Or the IRA? Or the Westboro Baptist Church?
December 20, 20169 yr How about WWII and the Holocaust? Mussolini, Hitler, Höss, Goebbels, Heydrich, and Mengele were all raised Catholic. Goring, Hess and Keitel were raised Lutheran. Rommel was raised an evangelical protestant. Do you call all of Christianity into question because there are a small group of people who were raised in Christian households who go on to turn into monsters? There were 11 million killed in the Holocaust under the orders of leaders who were baptized in Christian churches.
December 20, 20169 yr Not sure that Christ would have commanded to destroy God's chosen people. I'd guess old Hitler was acting on his own accord for those 11mil. But I get your point.
December 20, 20169 yr All these acts were perpetrated by man, and not commanded to do by Christ... So you might say...those acts had nothing to do with the religion, and instead it had to do with radical people who were falsely using religion to justify their actions?
December 20, 20169 yr Maybe in the early years of the Church, but the more modern acts were not carried out in Christianity.. Christianity is not without it's warts but it is at least evolving..

December 20, 20169 yr Are they wrong? The OP was asking about Islam. Every post was about Christianity. This is not what he asked. Am I wrong?
December 20, 20169 yr The OP was asking about Islam. Every post was about Christianity. This is not what he asked. Am I wrong? I didn't mean the posters, I meant the historical instances that a poster gave.
December 20, 20169 yr The OP was asking about Islam. Every post was about Christianity. This is not what he asked. Am I wrong? Deflection is an annoying trait isn't it?
December 20, 20169 yr I have read the Bible some so I think I can speak to this a little. Christians follow the teachings of Jesus. That would be whats in the New Testament. The Bible is compromised of both the Old and New Testament. Christians read and study both parts of the Bible however the teaching of Jesus is what the bottom line is, so do not take any old Testament teachings as things Christianity is based on, hence the name Christianity. The Quran is a very different animal. All you have to do is look up what it Muhammad commands. Its really just than simple. Now to give my answer to the original question. NO.
December 20, 20169 yr Author So you might say...those acts had nothing to do with the religion, and instead it had to do with radical people who were falsely using religion to justify their actions? Should have watched the video, she is muslim and laid it out to you. How can you make judgements withought information? So if you didn't listen to the author, why comment? What's funny is she lays is out how blind and misinformed and misguided the liberals are concerning the real and inevitable danger. Some of you definitely reinforce her statements. They stand against everything liberals stand for. No religous freedom, no seperation of church and state, no womens rights, death to homosexuals. But you guys go ahead and try to appease them. It's not radical, it's in the book and they are commanded to do it. Thankfully many don't, but many do. What she is saying is while there are peaceful muslims, the religion of Islam is not one that preaches peace. Edited December 20, 20169 yr by Fear the Nation
