This is such a ridiculous post that far left proffesors teach students in college for a false equivalancy. So of the earlier examples you listed are fair and we are talking hundreds of years ago. But christianity had a reformation many years ago. Islam still as a whole is in the dark ages and in many cases has regressed.

 

The reformation pre-dated the Huguenot Wars and the Thirty Years War. It essentially caused them, actually. The Salem witch trials occurred following the reformation as well. The Ku Klux Clan members swear to uphold Christian values, so that's another post-reformation example of hate-mongering and violence that is allegedly "done in the name of Christianity".

 

There is all kinds of hella-nasty stuff that was done by Christians to the "savages" in the New World. Just an easy example, the Sand Creek Massacre in 1864. A Colonel in the US Army (who just happened to be a minister and elder in the Methodist church) ordered a Cheyenne village to be destroyed...to the tune of 500 dead Native Americans.

 

The genocide in Bosnia was committed by the Bosnian Serbs who are Orthodox Christians - that was less than 20 years ago.

So your example in this country are isolated incidents a hundred years or more in the past. Your example globally is a civil war in a small country.

 

So the easy question to you is what religion in 2016 poses the biggest threat to global saftey?

This literally is such intellectually dishonest comparison, you know what the debate is. It isn't about historically who did what wrong. In 2016 what religion poses the greatest threat. People such as yourself do not want that discussion because there is only one answer. I wish for one second the left defended all religions with the same rigor they do Islam . But for some reason they fall in this SJW category of protected classes. Even though this religion is the biggest sinner of all things true liberals hold dear.

The Muslims I know are very peaceful people, and before anyone says it, yes, they are "true Muslims".

 

I absolutely refuse to demonize and degrade an entire religion because of the actions of the radical fringe.

Actually the pro Segregation crowd had some great Southern Baptists in their corner.

 

W A Criswell spoke on behalf of Segregation as late as the mid 50's.

 

Many SBC leaders and churches withdrew funding from Southern Seminary in the early 60's because the had MLK speak there.

 

All of these acts, among others, were couched in the Biblical dogma of some.

 

Is this the same as current radical Islam? No.

 

But the spirit behind each is there.

 

Still, these examples do not justify my horror and anger at radical Islam. Both are just as reprehensible to God.

 

Is Islam a religion of peace? It is practiced by some that way. But the radical and violent practitioners cloud any vision of the peaceful ones.

Noboby is denouncing a whole group of people. There are peaceful muslims. All the ones I know are too. What the author is saying as the violent one are not twisting their religion, the call to violence is in there. The peaceful ones are just refusing to be violent. That's the message. Truth is truth.
