Russian Ambassador assassinated in Turkey

Featured Replies

I completely agree. This is a Russia issue and they are more than capable of resolving it themselves. I'm sure the KGB are working on intelligence and how to handle it as I type this. As long as it turns out to be what it appears, a single person who wanted to make his own statement, I doubt much will come of it.

He had no security with him? I kept waiting on the shooter to go down in a hail of gunfire...

The guy was a cop, right? He may have been part of the security detail. Not sure but it may be possible.

Heard he used his badge to enter the building but I have not heard that he was part of the detail.

Seriously doubt he was part of the security detail. The number of shots he fired to kill someone from behind doesn't go along with how someone that's experienced in security or with a gun would have done it.

The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir presumptive to the Austro-Hungarian throne, and his wife Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, occurred on 28 June 1914 in Sarajevo when they were shot dead by Gavrilo Princip.

Let's hope it doesn't turn into the above.

May have been.

If NATO is involved then was the US was likely involved?

PP92 I have no idea. May just be the Russians whining.

The world stage is just a little bit out of kilter lately, and just not from Trump. Not a good time right now.

Agreed. This is an action that seems straight out of Homeland. Did he act alone or was he helped is the most important thing in this situation and I imagine we will never know and that both sides have their own theory.

Strange how he was the lone guy in the back and just stood there before he did the job.

Did the Ambassador not have any security with him?

Any good Russian knows not to let a guy stand behind them alone.

Its very well known even the cops that are Muslims cant be trusted. Its untelling how many have killed other cops and people.

This is a very good point. How did he get there? Where was the security detail? Are they alive?
