I really thought this year was going to be different for the Birds. I'm not so sure now!

Bearcats shot 16 of 34 from foul line, should not have needed overtime...

That is awful!

Walton was lucky to win, but they continue to take small steps of improvement each game. I really expected Highlands to be better than they were. I think they are at least 2 years away from being competitive in the 9th region again.

Could get another 8th Region 'A' team next week at Simon Kenton.

Can'twait till Wednesday.

Great win Walton

Official book had the Bearcats 18 of 32 from the line.

Honestly why did you think that? Just curious to hear some thoughts on this because it is not the first time that I have heard it.

Congrats on win for Walton. Highlands kids keep working good things will happen

I just thought they had some decent kids and they would be able to beat most of the teams they have lost too so far. They do have a lot of younger talent if they choose to keep playing. The 8th grade class is exceptional. Vinson, Hergott, Buten, Barth are all going to be really good.

Well they did lose a freshman this season who probably couldve played JV, he's focusing on football.

Middle school teams are usually pretty good at Highlands. We know not to put much stock in that. Right?

What is sport # 1 for Buten and Hergott?

I am not trying to "ruffle" any feathers here. Just having a discussion. Q mentions Huddleston not playing, I ask why? There is only so much that Kevin and the other coaches can do in encouraging these kids to play. (see Beau Hoge) Slowly but surely you are getting the "basketball" only or at least "basketball" first kids in the program. They have to be your best few players to have a lot of success IMO. The multi-sport kids are always going to be there.
