Lloyd 70 Holmes 65

Lloyd with a two game winning streak vs Dogs. The All A tournament could be interesting.

A BIG win for Lloyd!!!

Congrats Juggs!!

Lloyd (5-0)–Cipillone 8 2 19, Hamilton 3 7 15, McClendon 3 2 9, Neal 3 1 8, Jouett 2 0 4, Voet 4 2 10, Fann 1 1 3, Molitor 1 0 2. Totals: 25 15 70.

Holmes (4-1)–Miller 9 3 23, Hollis 7 1 16, Greene 4 0 8, Englemon 4 0 8, Commodore 3 1 7, Saxon 1 0 2, Sterling 0 1 1. Totals: 28 6 65.

Halftime: H 37-27. 3-pointers: L 5 (Hamilton 2, Cipillone, Neal, McClendon); H 3 (Miller 2, Hollis).

Looks like Holmes blew a 10 point halftime lead. Lloyd has now come back from double digit deficits against both Holmes and Newcath to get the win.

LJ Miller with a career high 23 points.

Exciting fast paced game, and although Holmes had a late 2nd quarter spurt and was up by 10 at half, the entirety of the game was mostly neck and neck until Lloyd's late game pull away putting them up by 10 around the 2:30 mark when Hollis got called for a T after a shooting foul putting Hamilton at the line to connect on 4 straight while also giving Lloyd the ball back.

The Bulldogs scrapped and got it back to within 3 or 4 (memory ???) with multiple last minute desperation attempts that kept failing to connect.

Down 10 to start the 3rd quarter the Jugg's came out in a 1-3-1 which immediately confused the Bulldogs having them throw up one-and-done junk allowing them within the first minute of the quarter to cut the lead back down to 6 when Listerman called timeout.

Strangely right out of the timeout Lloyd went directly back to a man-to-man which ultimately proved effective, but had many scratching their heads considering how quickly their zone aided in getting them back in the game. I suppose the Bulldogs came out of the timeout with a plan to stop the zone, but immediately had to scrap what they had discussed for the Juggs had immediately switched things up on them once more.

The two outstanding players of the game were first point guard Derrick Cipolione for Lloyd who big time stirs the Jugg's drink, and should be a name everyone should get used to as this kid is dynamite, and played a consistently steady and reliable game throughout with lightening fast quickness and smarts. I sincerely believe that he is now worthy of being in the Top 10 players in the 9th discussion.

For Holmes guard Jarrod Miller played a fantastic game inside and out, and with his perimeter shooting demonstrated that the Bulldogs actually do have more shooters than first assumed. Kid can light it up and plays with poised confidence.

Though Sterling Hamilton ended the game with 15 points, very few of them came easy thanks to #14 Bulldog Raekwon Sterling whose assignment tonight was to stick to him like glue, which he mostly did rather successfully keeping Hamilton pretty pestered not allowing him to get into his usual flow.

The word is out on Hamilton so Coach Listerman had the right idea to limit his touches and complicate his night. For the most part it seemed to work, but with a player like Hamilton it's pretty hard to do completely, but I'm sure that he'd tell you that it wasn't one of his better nights offensively, and that Raekwon had a lot to do with that.

Neither one of these teams should ever be overlooked as both will run you to death, and play with a fight and a fire till the final sound of the horn. Lloyd is for real and the Bulldogs mean business too. Some considered it perhaps another down year for the Dawgs, but from my observation they are much improved and very much play as a team unlike last season when they too often sat around hoping that McClendon would carry them.

Perhaps CovCath and Cooper are the class of the 9th this season, but from what I'm seeing there seems to be little separation with the rest of the pack. It literally is an any given night for most of these teams, and with that I mean that there's some real nice competitive basketball being played in the 9th this year worthy our attention.

Congrats, Lloyd!

Is this kid new to Lloyd?

NCC blew a 17 point lead with a tech as well a couple of them if I'm not mistaking.

Lloyd is a second half team that's for sure. Very surprised to see such low scores from big man Jaiden Greene. Lloyd don't play Cooper or Cov Cath this year that's a shame would love to see how that would go with the spunk of Lloyd. Sounds like Lloyd was being slept on.

I thought that was the case. Nice get for Lloyd.

Nice recap by B-Ball-fan, have to give Lloyd a lot of credit for not folding after being down ten. Cipillone is a very nice player that most of us In the ninth have not saw before, the first thing I had to do was go to Lloyd stat person for a proper way to pronounce his name, and it was called a lot. Holmes just got out there game in the second half and the credit goes to Lloyd. First game Commadore has not scored in double digits, he had three fouls pretty early and just never got into the flow. Lloyd and Dixie will be a dandy. On a side note congrats to JV Coach Humphery as they stay undefeated and are averaging over 50 points per game. It seems if you play Lloyd, no lead is safe. Congrats, it was a fun game to watch.
