Williamstown 74 Highlands 48

Featured Replies

I'm surprised this hasn't been discussed more.

Chalking this one up to a fluke?

Poor coaching?

Players quit?

What went on here?

No offense to Williamstown, but Highlands should never lose to them.

17 made 3's will be a win almost 100% of the time. Believe I saw where they were 17/25 from 3. Defense obviously was a little suspect if you allow that many 3's. Was told Williamstown played a zone the entire game and played a little "stall" ball in the 4th quarter.

Also understand that some of the foul calls left fans scratching their heads. Unfortunate risk you take when taking on 8th or 10th region teams.

Stall Ball? They scored 74. With a 26 point lead most people consider that calling off the dogs.

17 made 3's is really all I needed to hear.

Maybe this week the Birds will practice defending the perimeter.

I say its a misstep and Kevin & the staff gets them back on track. We saw this team play Holmes down to the wire and only lose by a few to Boone Co (well coached team who can be a sleeper).

Work harder on the defensive end is what I see needs to be done.In the lone game I saw them play (South Laurel) I didnt see much defensive intensity outside of maybe a couple kids which was very surprising considering Kevin has always demanded this side of the ball.

Whatever makes you feel better. I was just relaying some of what I was told and read about the game. Did not realize that I had to run it by someone for approval before I posted.

There were a few possessions where Stanley dribbled a one-man weave around a couple of defenders for 20-30 seconds before finding an open man for three. Harden emptied the bench after the second or third of those possessions and they played the same type of offense that got them the big lead, resulting in a 25-pt 4th quarter.

Just waiting to hear again this year about how great Highlands Middle School basketball teams are.

Boy you seem to be a huge breath of fresh air.....lol Making friends these days are we?

I think Billtown may have just taken offense.

:scared: Good googly-moogly!

Oh well, not the first time I've offended someone and won't be the last.

I'll be the second to ask... Why should they never lose to Williamstown?

I guess it is a good thing they slowed it down a little in the fourth, held themselves to 25 points, maybe just another risk of playing the 8th.

Well, we all know Highlands basketball hasn't been at the top of the mountain in reference to basketball the past few years, they have taken their lumps for sure, so I guess it's not totally surprising that a small school like Williamstown could slip up and beat them. However, with the recent talk of improvement and Highlands basketball looking to be on the upswing, I was totally shocked by this score.

Fox goes about 6'5" with some mobility. He was Finfrock's primary defender tonight and caused all sorts of problems for him. Chris Parsons is around 6'3" or so and also did a terrific job keeping the big man in front of him.

HHS has no other big to play along side Finfrock in these match ups? Seems I recall another 5 that could be playing the 4, but doesn't see time

17 for 25 from three ?

Good lord, tip your cap and move on...was Draud and Curry shooting? Lol.

Congrats to those great shooters; really must enjoy pullin the trigger on that home court.
