First real measuring stick for SK.

I think this will be a close game with two quality teams going at it. SHA will have to keep Niece in check with lesser experienced post play.

SHA has the deep bench that should let them apply defensive pressure and cause turnovers.

Both teams can shoot the ball extremely well, so I see it being a pick-em game.

SHA by 7.

Sacred Heart by 12-15. SK needs a little more time to figure it out.

I think this game will be a battle and I wouldn't be shocked either way the outcome will go however I am going to give the slight edge to SK. I say SK by 3.

If sk plays hard and together. They win. Sacred heart doesn't have an answer for sk center if she shows up and plays hard. Guard play should be interesting. If the ball is moving and Sks guards are aggressive at driving to the rim and dropping to Meier then it will be tough on sacred heart. If sk sits back then I think Berger has to much command of the offense and sacred heart can run their sets. That would be bad news for sk. Sk doesn't not win a shooting contest.

I agree with most everything. I'd say two comments. SH also has the ability to turn you over. So SK will have to protect the ball. Secondly, SH has a freshman center that is projected D1 and I was very impressed with her. So it may be interesting to watch that match up. My guess is SH won't have issues keeping SK out of the paint. Some of the big names for SH steal the headlines, but I was super impressed with others on defense. They have some really quick kids that can cause disruptions.

 

The last thing I was impressed with was SH's ball movement. Sets or no set, they move the ball VERY well.

Meier will have problems keeping up with the pace of this game.

Agree most of the comments on the thread..hopeful that the defensive exhibited on Wed. by SK becomes the norm and not exception. One factor in think may come into play is the fact that the top 2 scorers for SK from last season really haven't hit their stride yet. Hopefully this is the game they start getting cranked up.. I say SK by 5.

I agree. But I also think Meier will have to guard her on the other end...and not just under the basket. So you're right, if SH lets Meier post all night, advantage Meier. But I could also see the athleticism of the SH freshman center giving Meier just as many fits on the SH offensive end too.

I wouldn't worry about individual scoring. I would worry about who is playing defense and hope the ball is being distributed like it was against notre dame. Absolutely nothing wrong with what they did the other night. Chemistry is the key for this team to achieve their goals. I would rather be balanced which is a nightmare to play against vs guarding one or two. Easier to stop one or two vs 6 or 7.

Defense will carry you into post season and keep you in games on off nights. You have to be able to score; which I would hope they learned from the passing clinic Mercer county put on sk. That's when you know you can have something special.
