Honestly though, Corbin was probably the best team I watched in person this season. Congrats on a great season. Belfry is just another level.

Corbin had a small margin of error and they made a couple of costly mistakes that derailed their upset bid. Corbin started losing the momentum when they had the TD called back right before the half, but had a chance to regain it late in the 3rd qtr. when they had the bad snap when they had it at the Belfry 1 yd line trying to go up by 10. Corbin seemed to panic somewhat when Belfry then took the lead and committed 4 turnovers deep in their own territory, which led to 3 Belfry scores in the last 6 minutes.

 

Congrats to Belfry, who are a well oiled machine and also to the Redhounds on a fantastic season.

Not sure about that there was a Pike Central regular season game a few years back that Belfry was down over 20 I want to say (2011 maybe?)

 

I also remember a Breathitt County game when Justin Haddix was the QB back in 2001 that Belfry had a complete 2nd Half comeback and intercepted Haddix like 4 times.I want to say though that was only a 14 point deficit.

 

Also, the Belfry Seniors did step up, especially Horton and Catron... but the underclassmen did some heavy lifting tonight

The kid has the talent for sure and he worked his tail off last off-season to become vital part of the rotation at both HB and CB. When he has touched the ball he has been fireworks and really is a stronger runner than people give him credit for.

 

He's one of those kids that if he played for any number of teams he would be a 1200 yard rusher, but at Belfry he just gets his 6 or 7 carries a game and waits his turn to shine and tonight he was the catalyst.

 

In Belfry's two biggest wins Taveon has been the spark plug. Against Johnson Central he had the big kickoff return and made two massive game changing plays on D.

Don't think he has but he's the best player in the state, if he is a couple inches taller teams would be drooling all over him.

Stoops has not wised up and truth be told it is one of the biggest recruiting fails I have seen from the UK staff. They continue to look at these 2nd tier JUCO guys over Horton because he isn't as tall as they would like.

Listed at 6'2 but is probably 6'1 if you cut his hair. His wingspan I think is a big concern.
