The player was defenseless but he clearly he uses his shoulder. I don't know the rules in high school for targeting but I just hope this kid isn't a senior.

Could someone define defenseless...because this player was engaged with a player before getting hit. Because if this is targeting then every crack block used by offenses through out this season should had been targeting also

This is just a small sample of the poor judgement officials used all night.

Yeah, he's a senior, thankfully he's just missing the next game so he would get to play in the championship should we make it that far.

Wow I'd be willing to guarantee that if the kid that gets hit jumps back up that there is no call. Not seeing much targeting in this clip

This. The 'flagrant' part of this has more to do with the way the kid goes down like he got shot in the head and lays there with his arms all stretched out and less to do with the hit itself. I can accept that an official would view this play as targeting. It's the subjective nature of deeming it flagrant leading to ejection and missing of games that I find troubling.

This is not a ejectable play on top of that. Coaches from Owensboro Catholic was screaming at the refs eject eject #4. That's when the tossed him out of the game. Bottom line is O Catholic was getting there asses kicked and # 4 was everywhere on the field that night and they was trying to get any advantage they could in this game.

So much for keeping that under wraps, lol.

Some things and a certain someone should use better judgment

Coming tomorrow proudfan discusses how mad he is about Mayfield first drive being scripted, in particular his critique with each of the first 5 plays in detail

:D

Or maybe he decided to take a play off and we all know what happens when you take a play off. You get your you know what knocked off.

I think we will be playing in the next game. I've been told this has lit a fire under this team like no other.

I don't think he's defenseless but ive seen flags thrown for year for head hunting. The kid didn't deserve an ejection but a flag for PF would of been enough.

I hope that is the poke the bear needed to awake

Wait, we are going to give refs discretion to eject for this???? That is CRAZY. At least in college they have a video review and some of these get overturned. Throw on top of that an extra game suspension...this is easily the dumbest rule in KY high school football.

"defenseless" is a term I dislike big time. Anyways, these officials need to be held accountable with suspensions. That's a complete joke

If it was the right call, I would say it. It wasn't. The Khsaa had a chance to right a wrong. But for whatever reason they didn't. This crew was bad on many fronts and they were bad to both teams. The national high school rule says it's a 15 yard penalty with no rejection unlike college football. Also college football has the luxury of video replay to see if they got the call right and lots of times the call is reversed. Kentucky must have added the rejection part. When an official rejects a player in high school he should be very sure it's the right call because there is not video to see if it was the right call and later you will have to deal with the gutless KHSAA. Just my 2 cents
