It's like how people say "no one said Trump was a racist until he ran for POTUS".

 

The answer to that is why would we care that he was racist until he decided to run for POTUS.

 

I'm not too sure that Donald believes in anything, or stands for anything in particular other than The Donald.

 

Sounds like every move he has made and makes, everything that he has said and says, his choice of which party to run under, his campaign slogan, was all calculated as to what might best serve The Donald.

 

When he saw that he'd get cheers for standing up and screaming about whatever, if it got him followers, well then he went with it.

 

He discovered who that audience was and played it to the hilt.

 

When he figured who his people would be he selected a VP running mate that would compliment it though he and Pence are nothing alike. He still needed a true face for that side to help make it work. Pence played along for his own advancement, and I never bought that he truly stood behind Donald for the reasons he had claimed to. He went along with the act for himself and for the right.

 

Donald knew that the 8 year itch was upon us so he went the "R" route and played to that audience. If it had been the other way around he might've started speaking for the Dems instead if he had thought that it would best serve him.

 

He knew that he was a household name and had the persona of power. He figured that he had nothing to lose to see just what he could ultimately make of it, and as an exercise to inflate his own ego, he went for it.

 

He did it.

 

He won, and now for him it's just a matter of standing in these shoes and doing whatever he needs to live out his self-serving goal of being the President.

 

With no experience he knows that he as least must surround himself with those who are. Those he chooses are those who will best serve The Donald. He no doubt by the end of his term wants to be considered the best president ever, and again all for his own ego.

 

Because of this in some indirect way, who knows?, we might end up seeing him fulfill a bunch of good motivated by his ego. It's already evident that it might not be what he had promised, because that's not important anymore since it got him elected, but maybe surprisingly what the country actually needs. It's still to be seen.

 

Good or bad for the country is really secondary here. The ultimate goal for The Donald is to do or say whatever ends up working out for The Donald.

 

I'll give him this, he set out to prove something to himself and everyone else and he succeeded. Does he have a sincere bone in his body? I have yet to detect one.

There were no more white nationalists on Nov 9th than there were on Nov 7th. I hope they get crushed, just like the other hate groups.

Many years previous to running for president how many people did you ever hear speak favorably on Trump?

Excellent post. The bolded part especially I think the left and the MSM is having the hardest time grasping. They are so sure that their policies are correct and that they know what's best that they really cant get their head around the idea that there are LOTS of people that disagree with them. I also don't think they have an appreciation of how torqued off some of us are ate being described as you said.

It's been reported that a whopping 275 showed up to their annual convention. So say it's 5 times that. They've always been there.
