Is it any different in the adult world though? So why should we sugar coat things to high school kids and give them a false sense of how things are? Thats a large reason why things are they way they are with young adults.

This sure would be a boring place if we just sat around congratulating other teams and calling everyone "second best" if they didn't win a Title. There is no issue in debating teams that lose or second guessing, as long as people do it with respect and keep the blame off the individual kids I think that it is a necessary aspect of what makes this message board great.

 

Then again when we have two weeks of protests over a landslide victory in an election I guess maybe this culture just doesn't want to accept that sometimes people don't win.

My issue, AGAIN, is the need to let a team know that they're not as good as the Big 3 from Louisville or not as good as the Boone '97 team or...100% irrelevant unless someone brings it up in the thread. It comes across as petty and , frankly, misses the real value of high school athletics.

Considering you are specifically using one of my posts as an example and just brought it up again let's play ball.

 

Might I add, a post that I specifically said was not meant to be a big deal, but obviously it rubbed you the wrong way.

 

Considering what my point of debate was about was DIRECTLY tied to the pre-game discussion thread (it was even directly quoted by someone else) and considering it was something that was brought up several times and had been a talking point in different threads over the last four or five weeks, then I absolutely feed that it was relevant to the discussion after the team lost and was absolutely fair ground for debate.

 

What makes it "petty" when someone with absolutely no tie to the program or any axe to grind whatsoever with the school in question brings it up after it had been an on-going discussion across multiple threads? Do you think I was pulling for that school to lose? If anything those bold claims and critiques of rankings by their fans actually got me to follow them more if anything else.

 

 

I have always tried to be firm with my criticisms but also quick to accept when I am wrong or mistaken. In this case I see no reason to apologize or cater to your wishes.

 

Truth be told, since you wanted to use the word "petty" to describe things; I would say it was quite petty to start an entire thread with a passive aggressive undertone to try and indirectly lecture posters and how they "should" act. I have never had an issue with your posting on here and think you do a great job advocating for NKY athletes and trying to bring them attention, but on this particular topic I think you are reaching.
