November 15, 20169 yr I've never heard of the word posse being racial in any way shape or forms. When I was in middle school a had a teacher who referred to my group of friends as my "posse" and we were all white. I think its one of those words that old people heard 15-20 years ago that they think is "cool" as I don't think Phil is a guy who tries to keep up with the times much. Phil is a jerk and it was a definitely a slap in the face of Lebron, but he certainly didn't mean anything racist by it.

November 16, 20169 yr I don't think Phil Jackson is racist. I think he is and can be purposely disrespectful and in a way in this situation he was disrespectful. If Lebron James was Kevin Love and Kevin Love wanted to spend the night in LA to visit with his mom and friends after the game and spend the night would Phil Jackson have used the word posse to describe Kevin Love's family and friends? I'm thinking no.
November 16, 20169 yr And Carmelo seemed to make this issue about race just as much as Maverick Carter did. Maverick Carter had a great point though. For all he has accomplished from scratch he and his business associates are still referred to as a posse. Would Phil Jackson say the same thing about David Falk and his associates? Again, I'm thinking no. He was definitely taking a shot at Lebron and his people. Racist? No. Racial undertones? I say yes.
